Very average and not worth the money paid overall. Perhaps a hotel Mercure are trying to forget about?

Unfortunately quite noisy from the nightclub next door. Facilities in room were very limited. Woken by what sounded like a boiler banging away at 6.50am. Hot water also took an age to come through in both sink and the shower unless used in morning. Shower also leaked and flooded floor around the bath.

Mattress and pillows were comfy. Glad to find some coffee and tea making facilities in the room as very little else. Large over head shower was good once the hot water came through. Restaurant produced nice food with good service. Central location.

Breakfast - that could be improved so much. No greeting or explanation as to how it worked. Most bowls were empty and had to wait for more eggs and hash browns. Filtered coffee was out and it just wasn't great overall. A good breakfast sets an excellent vs a good hotel apart. This was at 9am so it should have been full of food and service.

Bedroom was excellent - very comfortable and decent shower. A little bit of mold in the bathroom which I guess can't be avoided with no window, but not ideal.

That I had to negotiate two steps up and down after exiting the lift on floor two. Especially difficult when managing luggage and a dog.

Breakfast very good . The location was perfect as I was traveling with an assistance dog and the Park opposite was ideal for the dog

The bathroom is a bit cramped, and I was happy to only have myself to share that space with as not that much space for toiletries. A proper non-slip mat for the bathtub would be good as it is a shower-over-bath.

The Mercure Exeter Rougemont is just opposite Exeter Central train station, which is ideal for travelling to. I was given a free upgrade with a lovely, much larger room, fridge, coffee machine, and a king-size bed. I didn't spend much time in the room but it was very good size and plenty of space for all my things. The bed was quite soft but comfortable. The bathroom had shampoo and conditioner, handsoap, and body lotion. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind at all times. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

The bar didn’t have staff there and we had to go and get them called - the walls are quite thin and we had a hard time sleeping due to next doors shooting which we could hear into our room.

Was clean and staff were polite.

Parking at the hotel is a nightmare. There is way too few spaces, so most guests end up parking at a near-by public car park. Not a problem unless accessibility is a concern for you.

The hotel is right in the centre of the city, and is modern and well resourced. The room was comfortable and the ensuite bathroom just what you need (including a shower that delivers a lot of water, which I like). Nothing special, just what you would expect from a mid-high-range hotel. Staff were super-welcoming and helpful.

    Can’t think of any criticism

Very helpful reception staff gave me directions to nearest parking as there weren’t any spaces left at the property. Also we had forgotten our phone charger and they kindly lent us one to charge our phones. A real life saver. Also there was free fresh water in reception and after a long car drive that was very much appreciated.
