Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe stairs with their worn out carpeting. The general tiredness of the decor and the single glazing.
I come to work in Cardiff and have to pay for my accommodation. I like ML Lodge because it's cheap. The room is large, the bed comfortable, it has an ensuite and the wifi works. The room has a kettle,TV and a nice chair and desk. Definitely the best budget hotel

United KingdomIt was quite old and looked like it need a bit of TLC…ripped blind on window, very dusty, base of shower wasn’t clean.. they do mention that there is no lift and a lot of stairs, we unfortunately had the top floor which is a nightmare, your legs will be sore the day after
The location of the property was really good, right in the city centre, for the location the price was fantastic

United KingdomNoisy at night, and the stairs are like climbing the Himalayans 🤣.
Location, great for lads night out, check in is in the kebab house down stairs. Which gave us our first laugh of the night 🤣 (but we were able to drop off our bags at 12 and hit the town before check in after 3). All in all cheap, clean, but well used. Not really suitable for families, but for a lads night out in Cardiff it's just right. Definitely added to the experience 🤣.

United KingdomBatteries in remote didn't work. Pretty sure there is damp in the corner of the room which they have tried to patch over Room 9 is a 102 steps steep climb - top floor - no lift. If you are disabled or struggle with steps - look elsewhere l This is not a family sort of place to stay. This is the kind of place to stay when you know you are barely going to be in it but you need somewhere to lay your drunken head
Look, it's a cheap as chips kind of place. Is it amazing, no but it's cheap and warm. The beds are comfy and you're provided with ample pillows It is close to all the good nightlife spots and a stones throw from the shopping and stadiums

NigeriaI booked Sandringham hotel but I was taken to another place. The kettle had rust inside, I had to wash it. The room was 100 stairs up without a lift, room 9 4th floor. I counted the steps and they were 100 exactly. It was crazy. It made our lives miserable having to go up & down 5 times a day
Comfy beds Spacious room Toiletries and tea items 2 heaters in the room

United KingdomThe room was a little "tired". The noise from the street was to be expected from such a central location, but was far from ideal. We had major problems with the Westgate car park machine - the screen was difficult to operate and it wouldn't accept the promo code so we ended up paying far more for parking than anticipated.
Baggage drop and check in were easy, and the central location is good for access.

AustraliaAs the building is an older one there are stairs and no lifts. This can be a strain if you have heavy or lots of luggage. The other interesting thing was that check in was in the Kebab shop next door.
Location is excellent. It’s right in the middle of everything and easy to get places.

United KingdomThere is no lift on the property. Room 8 and 9 on the 4th floor, only for people who want to crash the night and hit the road in the morning. Staff at Gyros didn't have a clue for new bookings. They made me wait for 30 minutes to check in.
