I booked directly with booking .com. we didnt realise that food was no longer served there since covid finished. Booking .coms description is 80 seat restaurant and food /drink was the bar, this led me to believe that we could eat there. Fortunatley it was a dry morning and we walked 10 mins into town and had a lovely cooked breakfast in a cafe tea room.

Its a pleasant hotel, very close to the town centre and near to the river if you like to walk there.

Little bit overpriced for what was available. Little bit dated in places too. Despite having a kitchen and restaurant, there's no food available at all (we knew this in advance so that wasn't a problem but when you see the facilities, you wonder why a continental breakfast isn't available at least.

Great location. Car parking available. Friendly staff. Clean and comfy bed. 24 hour reception. Our room was right by the bar so if the hotel had have been busy, it wouldn't have been a peaceful night's sleep... Luckily for us it wasn't busy and we slept well. We would stay again as the position is great for our needs.

Very pleasant stay. I did however seek a refund as I inadvertently booked two rooms for the same night. I had not received any acknowledgement when I made the booking due to a fault on my email, so assumed the booking had not gone through and made a second booking. I was told at the time that my second booking had been cancelled by the management of the hotel, but I have not received any acknowledgment of this from the hotel or from Booking.com, or any refund. It is not about a month later. This is rather disappointing.

Hotel is out dated and needs a refurbishment. There is no way to lock the door from the inside, so I put a chair under the handle for added security. If you are leaving the hotel, you have to hand your keys in to reception. When I returned from a Christmas event, the key to my room had actually been handed to someone else by mistake. Luckily that person noticed and brought the key back to reception, but it is still worrying that someone was given full access to my room and all my belongings left within the room.

Hotel is clean. Didn't use any other facilities.

All the facilities were there for a great stay, but not in use. Rooms are 20 years out of date, beautiful restaurant out of use, meal menus advertised on line, including evening meals and breakfast, but none available. It's a ghost town.

The staff were great - the heating was not working in my room, so the room was changed quickly without question. I loved the potential - if only they could get that lovely restaurant and bar operating again, the car park lit, the rooms brought up to modern standards, it would be fantastic! Such a waste of a great hotel!

UNFORTUNATLEY THERE IS NO BREAKFAST AT THE HOTEL, WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL, NOT AN ISSUE THOUGH AS PLENTY OF PLACES TO EAT NEARBY WHICH ARE VERY GOOD

Great location for town centre, shops riverside and bars/restaurants. Staff very friendly and helpful. Others have commented it's a little dated, but furnishings were quality standard - why change - think of the planet! it was very clean and comfortable and had everything needed

I find the request to leave the keys at the reception very funny (to say the least, I would never believe you don't have copies of the keys) Sorry I don't want to try to. Also the car park closed on Sunday for some reason in the early afternoon (unable to leave the car and walk to the city).

No food available despite it having restauraunt facilities. Staff were working hard and there weren't enough, it was clean but dated, I suspect its a victim of staff shortage, probably brexit related and it feels like the owners have no ambition for it, which is a shame.

The location was good for newark, parking good, staff did their best. Room was clean.

The restaurant was closed so could not get any food or breakfast. There were eating places close but if it was raining or you’re tired, it would be a pain. There was a really pretty restaurant but it’s not opened post covid. If they reopened it, i would definitely stay again

The room (and hotel) was tired and the facilities were underwhelming considering the price. The bar area was very limited and there was no food served in the hotel, and no breakfast at all. The bed was very uncomfortable and the window looked onto a wall, so not great.

The hotel was in a good location very near the centre of Newark. There was plenty of parking on site. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom was clean and modern.

Bed mattress was uncomfortable. Toilet cistern took a long while to fill and noisy . Shower pressure very poor
