Sleepless night.nice staff. No food after 9pm!

The room was so noisy, we hardly slept. There was a huge amount of road noise, but the worst was the general noise of the hotel. When people walked along the corridor or above us it sounded like they were in the room with us. We were startled several times in the night as we actually thought someone was in our room, the footsteps were so loud. No food available after 9pm, reception advised us to get Uber eats!

Clean hotel Staff were polite and helpful

The area of the building we were in was very creaky which is only a problem at night when trying to sleep and the very heavy doors that bang shut

Great location with parking, staff very helpful and friendly, bar area very nice, and rooms nice.

No kettle with complimentary coffee or tea. Bit mean for 4 star hotel. Very thin duvet.

Good location. Fast check-in. Excellent cafe nearby for breakfast called The Weldrakes. Shower and soap were good.

There was no window in the room, only a skylight which had no cover. Also, I was in a back building which had stairs, which thankfully a staff member assisted with my luggage going up, but I had to carry it down.

The location was perfect, walking distance to the Minster and other significant attractions. The staff were very nice and extremely accommodating.

Room was dark and dingy couldn’t see out of the window which is fine but the lighting was poor. There was no cookie on arrival so don’t know why it stayed we would receive this. Had to sit in reception for an hour waiting for our room to be cleaned at 4pm. Bed was hard and not comfortable and the coffee at breakfast was not drinkable it was awful

    The location was great

The nearest car park is Monk Bar - where they charge you £20 per day - which is only £5 cheaper than the hotel charges.

Good self-service breakfast with plenty of choice of hot and cold food. Coffee could have been better as it was a bit weak for my liking.

The room was okay, it looked better in the pictures however it was fine for a couple nights but expensive for the room you get.

The location is great, a couple minutes walk to the Cathedral and main city centre, staff were very friendly and we received a very friendly welcome.

The toilet area of the bathroom was quite tight for a tall person. The hotel parking is very expensive, £25 a night. We parked at Monkbar Mews public car park, which is across the road from the hotel. We pre booked online with Your Parking Space for £25 for 2 days.

I requested a walk-in shower when I booked. We were given a very small double room with a shower over the bath, at the very back of the hotel - not great. After speaking with Tom at reception we were given a lovely room on the first floor of the main building. Thank you Tom, it made a huge difference to our stay.

Room was a little tatty, shower lacklustre and we were downgraded a room due to maintenance issues. We were given drinks vouchers but would have preferred a refund of the difference. Breakfast was ok but bacon was quite soggy.

was a little noisy at rush hour due to being close to road, limited parking expensive, pillows too soft, could do with lick of paint here and there. No hand soap in bathroom.

Central to town, no need to use car, breakfast good, nice relaxing area for evening.

The room was comfortable but small for the price. The heating system in the room did not work which wasn’t ideal with my wife being pregnant. The seal on the bathroom sink may have perished or there may have been some pipe issue as when the sink was used, it created a pool of water on the bathroom floor. All these issues were reported to staff on leaving the hotel and I’m sure they will be dealt with promptly for future guests. Having stayed with Hilton previously, I have high expectations of the company so I was surprised. Nonetheless, I would stay at their hotels again as I’m sure this a one-off and these issues can be easily resolved.

Amazing location. The hotel was very good with an adjoining bar. Right in the heart of York so close to all the bars/restaurants. We were able to check in earlier than planned, late check out and the staff were very courteous.

So.... unlike previous visits.... the atmosphere was much more rowdy in the bar area and at times around the facilities.... it was more difficult to relax in the bar area. Also much of the dinner menu was unavailable on the Friday night making dinner near the rowdy bar rather a disappointment. Maybe Easter weekend mayhem was mostly the issue as York was breathtakingly busy.

This is a great hotel in a perfect location. Rooms are good and the place is generally very comfortable. We stay here pretty much whenever we visit York.

Hotel claims to be dog friendly, however in our room there was no facility for the dog (water bowl) Feel it is terrible you have to pay for parking, when it is on hotel land. I know dog friendly room are normally the “worst rooms” but didn’t enjoy the room being directly on the main road/public walkway (pavement). Breakfast was very basic for a Hilton

Furniture design awful could have been designed to have more storage ie:deeper draw or fit more drawers under desk top. Needs less bulky coat hangers. Coat hooks on wall or door. Bathroom shower door awkward & shelf to low sink.

    Breakfast good location good
