Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe number one dislike was the lift was out of order. Ugh! Lots of steps with heavy luggage. We stayed four nights and it still hadn’t been fixed. The shower splash guard doesn’t work very well so the floor gets quite wet after a shower. A patron may have plugged something in and caused our lights to turn off. I had to call down and they eventually found the problem and fixed it. We liked our room; roomier for three people compared to our last stay but it was in the front area of the building so motorcycle noise could be heard even though we were on the third floor. I wish they offered gluten free bread!
This is our third stay at the Montana. It’s an older quirky hotel but we like that about it! Having the option for breakfast is a plus so you don’t have to find a place to eat out for breakfast. Location is excellent. Near the tube, easy walk to many restaurants and cafes and museums. It feels very safe to walk at night.

CanadaThe shared bathroom was on another floor and my room was quite noisy susceptible to street noise and guest walking in the street. I found the bed to be way too soft for my taste.
This hotel offers excellent value. The location is hard to beat and the staff is fantastic

United KingdomOur room was a bit dingy as it was in the basement, but on the plus side it was quiet and we slept really well.
The location is great - 2 minutes from the tube and walking distance to Hyde Park and the museums. We had a basement room which was huge, bedding was clean and comfy. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

FranceI had the feeling that the bed sheets were just soso clean. Difficult to have a steady flow of hot water in the bathroom but on another hand, my room was not supposed to have a shower and it had one so I cannot really complain :)
Location was great. Price was very low. Check in and check out process was fast.

United KingdomSlightly musty smell as we entered the room but it wasn't noticeable once we'd settled in, so didn't spoil our stay at all. Would have like a curtain/blind at the en suite bathroom window but the glass was frosted so no problem worrying about being seen from the outside and it didn't spoil our stay.
Love the location for when we visit the Royal Albert Hall. Plenty of food choice so close by. Comfortable hotel. Pleasant, helpful staff. Rooms are a bit dated but cosy and clean. Beds are comfy. Great having a mini fridge in the room and a kettle/cups etc to use

Czech RepublicUnfortunately the lift wasn't working and my room was in the highest floor. And YouTube connection with my phone wasn't working either. I think it was due to weaker internet connection, or maybe television. I don't know, because Wifi worked perfectly on my phone.
I enjoyed the stay very much, the bed was super comfy, staff was very nice and helpful. I loved the area, full of restaurants and cafés, near metro station. Near Hyde Park so I could ran there in the morning.

CanadaHotel quite dated, it clearly has great bones but doesn’t look to be very well maintained. The biggest frustration was the lift not working the entirety of our stay. Walking up to the fourth floor not ideal with our baby. Climate control in the room was also not working very well

United KingdomMy wife and I are both in our 70's and the lift was out of order so we had to carry our luggage up 50 steps to our room! and every time we came in or out of the room we had 50 steps each way to negotiate.
We chose The Montana because it is basically 50metres from Gloucester Road Tube Station and an 8 minute walk from the Natural History/Science/V&A museums. The hotel is very clean and the ground floor bar area and reception are beautiful. The room was large with loads of storage/iron and board/hair dryer/shower over bath. we had a double and a single bed in the room. The mattresses and pillows were a very expensive quality and the bed linen was superb and changed daily. The room was air-conditioned and even though we were on the front of the hotel there was hardly any road noise due to the windows and very heavy curtains.

FinlandThe hotel is nice and cozy, but it is good to know that it is located in an old, elegant building. Because of this, the hotel has narrow corridors and staircases. My room facing the street was also a bit noisy before the traffic on the main street calmed down.
The hotel is located in a good location right next to the metro station. Otherwise, there are grocery stores and restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. The hotel itself is comfortable and corresponds to the description in every way. The staff was nice and helpful. The continental breakfast was varied and comprehensive.
