Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bed springs were really creaky. As we were situated by the reception, you could hear conversations from the hallway and people coming and going.

United KingdomThe mattress in the room was really bad. I could feel every spring and it wasn’t flat. They need to be changed! Showers in the pool area and Jacuzzi were very dirty. Black on edges due to poor cleaning not using bleach and a proper scrub!
Great location and breakfast was very good. Staff was really nice and polite. Spa was great and massage was superb!

United KingdomBathroom was a bit mouldy and run down, lots of screw holes on tiles and the ceiling looked as it it had been very mouldy. Not shelf for your toothbrush! Incorrect toilet seat, had shell seat instead of the correct D shape. Tiles mouldy in the shower. Overall bathroom let the overall experience down. Widow has seal missing and wind howled through the gap, was like it was open. In the spa the jacuzzi is a bit run down and not very powerfully.
The food was exceptional both dinner and breakfast. Breakfast buffet and hot order which was very nice surprise. Service was very good. Room was OK, good tea station. Towels felt nice. The pool was very warm and a good depth. Sauna and steam room where very good. Overal the spa was very nice and priced well.

United KingdomCould do with some hooks in the room to hang towels/coats. Had to put towels over the side of the bath but they weren't dry the day after. The pool/spa area was great and well equipped but had to tell them about the poolside and changing room floors as they were not clean. The room I stayed in was very comfortable but the bathroom window wouldn't close and could do with a bit of an update.
Really comfy beds, amazing breakfast to order, friendly staff in all areas, picturesque location, great hot shower, fab lunch and dinner food.

United KingdomA couple of minor points, but the toilet roll holder in our bathroom kept depositing the toilet roll on the floor because it was loose, and there was no light on one side of the bed. It might have been nice to have had a shower curtain and the shower attached to the wall instead of just being able to use it in, or over the bath.
I rang the hotel a couple of times before I came to check some details and book a meal for the first night and the staff were friendly and helpful. The meal we had on our first night was excellent-slow cooked lamb followed by lemon cake, cod with chorizo followed by cheeses (generous helpings and very tasty.) The meal we had on the third night (a Sunday) was not so good, especially the mushroom risotto with char-grilled chicken, which sounded very promising, but I make risotto myself and mine is way better!! Sorry to criticise. Also on our final morning we took a chance on "grilled" Kippers, which we normally love. These were small and definitely NOT grilled-I would say they were boil in the bag or "jugged" Kippers at best. It was a shame, as the cooked Welsh breakfasts which we had on the other days were delicious! We both really enjoyed seeing the local birds coming to the bird feeder-especially the Great Spotted Woodpecker and the Nuthatch-beautiful! The location of the hotel was really nice too, with the river and mossy trees behind. I made use of the swimming pool first thing on our last morning and really enjoyed it.

United KingdomSome parts of the hotel need re-decorating. Maybe more lamps in the bedroom? We were room 29. A new shower curtain would make the bathroom smarter.
We visited Nant Ddu 30 years ago for regular family dinners on Friday nights. It's always been good and hospitable. Certain areas of the hotel could do with a lick of paint, carpet replacing & maybe more outdoor seating? The pool area was a real bonus and we had an enjoyable stay, thank you.

United KingdomSuite was ground floor, next to carpark. Didn’t have a wow factor, considering it was a suite. Spa very run down...steam room was out of order, safety hand rail to Spa pool was VERY wobbly, potentially dangerous to a person who'd depend on using it to enter pool. Headrests to Spa pool broken, one user said "probably haven't been replaced in 20 years" 32 users of pool area at one point and only 12 loungers (10 of which are squashed into a very small space) Unpopular opinion maybe but we disliked that children were allowed...we work hard to enjoy our "relaxing" Spa weekend to have children bombing into the pool. Pub area wasn't very inviting, small, uncomfortable and again very dated. Booked a table in the bistro and food took 50 minutes to arrive (however, it was delicious) Ultimately, needs updating or cost lowered significantly to reflect what's on offer. Visited many places with far better facilities with a much lower price tag. Overall, quite disappointing.
Location was lovely, easy to get to. Food was exceptional! Staff were very friendly.
