Location of the hotel is next to the main road thru the village. Not shown on the photos. Would use some updating.

Location of the hotel is great. Very long tradition and history. Lovely dinner on arrival.

The hotel was uncomfortably warm. The lounge was quite stifling and the bedroom was the same, despite turning down the radiator and opening a window. The food was fine but the burger buns were rock solid, making them very difficult to eat.

The hotel was absolutely fine. Yes, it's not the most modern of hotels but that is part of its charm. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was fine. The staff were all very pleasant.

The creaking of the floors was very disturbing. From the passages to inside the room the floor creaks really loud. When sleeping and someone walk in the passage this can be heard and can be extremely irritating not to mention when you walk from the bed to the bathroom. Although we do understand it is a dated and old hotel this is possibly something you will get but it is something to consider when staying in these types of accomadation.

The breakfast was for me the best from all our stays in scotland Nethy Bridge hotel had a really good buffet breakfast. Overall we had a good stay felt the accomadation was clean and big enough for 3 of us as we had a pet. The fact that they are pet friendly makes it really nice as well and they have a nice big park area in front of the hotel where you can walk the dog.

The building is a vast Victorian pile and in some public areas in need of a coat of paint and looks a bitty tatty but this did not spoil the our weekend and in some ways added to the charm. If you are looking for high class luxury this is not the place for you but if you want to enjoy a great weekend then recommended

We had a very pleasant weekend at the Nethy Bridge Hotel. It is an old building and needs a little bit of care and attention but out room was comfortable and clean and the bathroom was obviously recently upgraded. Breakfast buffet was excellent with plenty of choice and we had dinner in the bar both nights- again a good menu and not too expensive. The staff were excellent throughout and could not do enough for us. The hotel is dog friendly (lots of dogs there) and plenty of way marked walks locally along the River Nethy and in the woods. We are hoping to return soon.

Despite being a double 'superior' room, there was only one chair to relax in. Hotel overall was a bit run down, especially the corridors.

Traditional Victorian Hotel - still had that look and feel. Large, great value room - clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Bar meals acceptable. Staff most friendly.

Bar meals good value. Couple of good snooker tables to use after dinner is great fun. Staff pleasent. To really enjoy the hotel you have to have the correct mindset, it's an old classic Victorian building with all the challenges of maintaining an old property. It's clean and maintained where necessary and part of the "Fawlty Tower" charm is to embrace the comically worn bits.

The building is in need of an upgrade, which is hardly surprising given its age. Some very creaky floors with carpets/skirting boards in need of renewal. Windows should be double glazed.

The heating system is bizarre - the corridors are absolutely sauna-level roasting, as if the central heating system has no thermostat whatsoever, yet somehow the room was completely freezing, despite the heater being left on full all night. We considered leaving the room door open at night just to let some of the heat from the corridor in. I get that the room had a large single-glazed bay window and the building is more than a hundred years old, but so is my flat and I don't have this problem at home. I found it odd that despite there being cast-iron radiators all over the place, the heater in the room was a weak modern fan-heater. The inefficient/non-working heating system was the only thing that stopped us staying an extra night(in midwinter) I worry that they'll do a tacky upgrade and ruin all the classic character of this place(as seen by the removal of the phonebooths - simply blocked off rather than replaced with anything aesthetic or useful), the 'upgraded' function room would seem to be a sign of things to come. If they continue in this vein with the breakfast room, bar and lounge, the place will be ruined. The best bits of this place are those that retain the Victorian character and charm. Plastic plants....c'mon, it's practically a sauna in the common spaces all winter anyway, and you have magnificent light from all the windows - perfect conditions for some simple houseplants, rather than awful tacky plastic. A bit more imagination on behalf of the owners and this place could truly flourish again.

A lovely Victorian-era hotel in a very peaceful location. Complete with full-size billiards table, upright piano and lounge area straight out of your grandparents' Christmas cards(in the best possible way). The staff were generally incredibly friendly, the service was great despite it being off-season. Breakfast very good.
