Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Bar closed quite early in the evening. Breakfast only served until 0900 on weekdays.

Response when gf asked for. No one would take responsibility
Breakfastruined on first morning as we had been promised gf food was available when it was not. Very poor.

Breakfast was good. Bit slow at keeping it topped up.

Bed was bit high - base and mattress together were deep. Temperature control in shower didn't work too well and shower dripped.
Good breakfast, freshly cooked with plenty of choice. Room was comfortable and clean. Friendly staff.

there was no running hot water in the morning a couple of the light bulbs were not working the plug had jammed in the sink and i had a job getting it out other than that the hotel met my expectations.
Good location for what i needed room was warm enough as heater worked well all staff were brilliant, restaurant meal was nice security was adequate as i parked right outside reception which was a big help as i had stuff to bring to room.

Room was cold and there was a strange smell coming from the bathroom, the only way I could describe it was like rotten eggs. The bed was very uncomfortable, my partner did not manage to get any sleep due to the mattress and pillows being lumpy.
room was very big with plenty of space, the food was good value for money and very tasty.

Website allowed family members to book with a dog, claiming to be dog friendly on the booking site and including a message to the hotel advising they intended to bring a dog 2 months in advance of the booking. Ten minutes before they arrived (after a 5 hour drive) they received a call to say they had to cancel their booking as the dog could not stay. 9 family members had to book in to another hotel at the very last minute when they were very tired and frustrated. It began the family event on a very bad note. On a note specific note for the hotel, flooring was very loudly creaky and, having children with us, the option of a hot chocolate and biscuit in the room would have been a nice addition to the basic tea and coffee offering. Windows were also rather draughty even though they seemed to be fully closed.
Basic but comfortable and clean. Comfortable bed, good pillows. Good bathroom facilities, deep bath and good pressure on the shower. Friendly staff in reception. Good parking.

No waste bin on customer side of breakfast counter.
Was good. No complaints other than a waste paper bin on the customer side of the counter to put paper coveeings i.e. from sugar packets, Weetabix packets etc. Good cooked breakfast.
