Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

BulgariaThere was no hot water, only lukewarm. The sheets had blood stains. During the morning while cleaning the other rooms there were very sudden loud noises. There was an issue with the water in the toilet. No EU to UK power socket adapters available neither in the room nor in the reception. The reservation conditions were that I will pay upon arrival but they tried to charge me upfront and threatened to cancel my reservation.
The location! Super close to many sites and landmarks by foot and two tube stations nearby! Nice pubs are located close as well. Very easy to find on Google maps even with an offline map (if you don’t have internet). Friendly staff. Central location but not overcrowded.

BelgiumFurniture was a bit shabby, one lamp in our room was broken and several lightbulbs as well. One of the shower knobs fell off whilst trying to turn it and there was no shower door/curtain so the floor got all wet.
Nice room, more space than expected. Bed was very large which was nice and the facilities were nice (tea corner, tv etc)

United KingdomMy sink took 1hr + to drain away which was frustrating. Happened when I arrived, I went out for the night, came back and it finally drained. But I was only there as a brief stop so told mgr when I left. Hopefully they’ll get a plumber in! My window blind didn’t not drop fully when I came to close it, and the radiator took ages an hour to kick in & warm up when I turned it on, which was a shame.
Close to NH main street & tube. Big fluffy bath sheet was welcome bc many budget hotels offer you nothing more than sthg the size of a face cloth. Nice to see some shower gel & soap too.

United KingdomOur room was great to look at however we could hear absolutely everything from the room next door to us, including being woken up by their alarms. The bed was not the most comfortable either, however I think it is fair within the context of how much we paid.
The location was absolutely incredible, less than ten minute walk from Notting Hill Gate is absolutely not to be scoffed at! For the price you pay the location is outstanding.

United KingdomI was not told in advance that the breakfast was "continental" and in the event I had only cereal and some toast. The cold meats looked totally inedible, so I did not try them and the coffee machine did not work at all. So no coffee with breakfast.
The ensuite bathroom was nice, clean and well-appointed. The central London location is very good. The bed was nice and comfortable and the room was quiet.

The place was absolutely spot on and staff were brilliant. Only issue was we were in a basement room (no view) and you felt the underground trains running from under you every 5 minutes. Vibration and noise included.
