Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Air conditioning preset temperature too high for our liking. Felt stuffy. Water leaks out of the shower and bath due to poor bath design.
Good location, spacious room. Checking in staff was most pleasant and accommodating. Love it.

The toilet door issue what’s that all about? A gap in the doors which means that smells and odours enter into the main room which isn’t great

Needed to open the windows overnight for some fresh air and it was quite noisy with 4am bin collections, but I guess that's all part of a city centre location. We should have asked for a quiet room. We always use Novotel as they are consistently good hotels
Everything, clean, well-equipped,ultra friendly staff, comfortable beds, lashing of hot water, powerful shower, nice toiletries..very nice stay.

The carpet looked like it was soaked previously then dried - it's all crinkled. The pull out bed had some stains on.
The facilities were great, gym sauna and steam room. Excellent breakfast (addon). Staffs gave a friendly welcome for a first timer at Bristol.

Short walk from the station and attractions are close. Room larger than I expect. Had a fridge and safe which was a bonus I had not expected and mineral water in addition to tea and coffee making facilities. Varied breakfast catering for all tastes.

Wasn’t very impressed with breakfast bacon looked dry sausages didn’t look cooked so I ended up paying £14 for some toast

The price (room and parking) was more than I expected, but I felt that the comfort provided was worth it.
Didn't have breakfast, but the room was very spacious and well-kept. Was very satisfied with the bed and the bathroom - two points that most hotels don't do to my satisfaction. Location was also perfect for my needs due to proximity to the city, if not that picturesque (but I wasn't expecting it to be). Staff were also exceptionally helpful, clear, and friendly.

I didn't like to be told on my first morning to breakfast that I needed to pay for breakfast when I had already paid in advance with my booking, bit embarrassing really, but I put it down to human error, as the member of staff was able to confirm with reception quickly, but when it happened again the next day by the same young lady even though she was shown confirmation on my phone, she remembered the day before, but insisted it was company policy for this to happen again ,yet everyone else behind me was not stopped, [not nice, sort this company policy issue]

A few extras were missing the kettle didn't work there were a few stains on the carpet getting to the carpark a little confusing no plates or knives for the cheese board and strawberries.

Well, a gym would have been nice, but I knew there wasn't one when I booked. It might have been nice to get food at 3 in the morning too, but with Bristol city centre nearby that wasn't really an issue.
Décor of my room was good as was the bar and restaurant areas. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was air conditioned. There was a mini fridge and a safe deposit facility. And there was a car park on site.

The tea bags in the room should have been replenished. The car park is very tight with concrete pillars so if you have a larger car it’s very tricky.
Easy to find, clean and tidy hotel and room . The room was spacious and with a fridge too.
