No dog bowls with water. Smoking immediately outside the rear fire door. Wafted into my room. No food or bar service in the afternoon despite menu stating opening times and bar food until 6pm Bathroom could use a very good scrub.

Loved the main building. Able to take my dog.

Averall good, except the dinner. Do not order the tenderloin if you want value for your money

The staff was neither helpful nor informative (reception). They did not have a very nice attitude, they acted about overclass. Though, the breakfast staff was very nice and helpful. The dish that two of us ordered was a shame; the tenderloin that cost 17 pounds was the smallest portion we have ever had, and when we asked if we could have a bigger portion, they replied that we were to pay another 8 pounds. We had looked forward to have dinner at the hotel instead of going out, and we were really disappointed. I think that the waiter and the waitress should have offered us a compensation for the poor food, either to pay less or to give us more of that tiny meal. I big deception! The chicken burger, though, that one of our sons ordered was very good.

The facilities with the gym, hot tub, sauna and pool was very good and relaxing, The pub area was very nice too. Very nice "breakfast staff".

The room itself was quite large, however it was in need of a deep clean, there was a lot of dust and it just looked a bit unloved.. the soundproofing could do with an update as every time the person in the room above us got up in thr night it woke us up with the noise and we are both hard of hearing! The bed was also very lumpy and the pillows were not good.

The staff are brilliant and the leisure facilities are great. The food was excellent.

I'm unsure if there are any rooms for people with disabilities. I did request one but was informed that they could give me the room off the carpark through the firedoors , that, said the way to the dining room was up and down quite a few stairs so yes I had to go outside to re enter through another firedoor which was open and therefore I then only had 3 steps down to the dining room. The room itself was clean but the bathroom did not have a blind and when dark and the light put on outside in the carpark could see the silhouette of the person doing their abulsions.

The hotel is full of history and charming. The staff were friendly and helpful..my room was clean and spacious

They don't tell you when you check in that you also have to pay a extra 100 pounds deposit before you can stay if you don't have it you carnt stay and lose all of your money you paid for the room They don't make it clear anywhere till you get to the desk to check in , and you don't get it back for 7_10 days!! Won't be returning here which is a shame as it is a nice hotel

Very large rooms we stayed in the deluxe rooms which had nice complimentary drinks and cookies and crisps with pod coffee machine was very nice but not for 238 pounds for 2 nights!

Someone lifting weights every evening made my room shake when the dropped them!

Nice old converted house with plenty of parking space, set back from the main road. The core is full of character and used in a very sympathetic way. The main rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Staff are all friendly, professional and helpful. Rooms are in various extensions which have been added over the years with a leisure suite in the basement which I didn't use. The room was of good size, nice en-suite with a bath/shower, warm and well lit with an outlook over the rear. Although the hotel was busy it was quiet at night with no disturbances. Breakfast very good, cooked and buffet continental with attentive staff. I didn't use the restaurant in the evening, I don't like sitting by myself!

I developed a rash from the visit … I assumed , it was from the bedding . after hearing many reports, from the actual members of the club , who had also become infected… they assumed it was from the jacuzzis… I was the the only one from my party that , developed this awful , uncomfortable rash … awaiting to have an emergency dermatologist appointment..

The food is generally good (but I do miss the old wider-ranging A La Carte menu, which was really special). As ever, the absence of a lift means taking bags up a couple of staircases.

I've stayed here several times, and the staffing is greatly improved. Everyone is courteous, efficient and helpful. I wasn't well on my first evening, and one of the staff led me back to my room. The rooms are comfortable and generally quite quiet, as is the location (though there can be noise if there is a function on).

Sofas in common lounge areas uncomfortable. Not enough low level single chairs in bar area. No dressing table chair in bedroom and other chairs provided in room too low to be able to use mirror. No soap or hand wash in bathroom, had to use shower gel to wash hands.

The pillows and towels definitely need replacing. Despite emailing and receiving confirmation the staff didn’t know we’d booked dinner. The restaurant was too full on Friday night which was a shame.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Food and drink were nice and very good value for money. Liked that staff didn’t come into our room for the 3 days we were there but they did offer to top up our tea, coffee and biscuits each day.

Overall the hotel needs some TLC - it's quite tired in places and needs some repairs. No shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom but that seemed to be the only thing missing.

The pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzis were lovely. Really relaxing and very friendly staff The hotel staircase was lovely and nice seating areas and bar.

Bedrooms are a looking a little tired. The pillows are dreadfully hard and lumpy. Hated the loud rap music in the bar. It's quite a trek to some of the bedrooms involving going up and down flights of stairs. Some guests really experienced issues due to the lack of lifts.

Staff generally friendly and efficient, especially on the reception. Breakfast was reasonable value and nice to have it prepared to order.
