My room was very cosy and I looked the desk in front of the window. The spa was completely gorgeous and I appreciated being able to stay for an extra three hours after checking out of my room.

The bathroom was below par for a 5* hotel. One had to climb into the bath which was slippy and the shower was very difficult to turn on and get the to the right temperature. This meant you got hit by v cold or v hot water.

The spa is amazing with the outdoor pool and jacuzzi…the breakfast is very good. The room was cosy and clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Everything was good. Only constructive criticism is: Presentation of breakfast order of scrambled egg could have been enhanced by simply adding a little garnish together with side order of toast as standard perhaps?

Cosy room was very cosy! The beautiful decor, great staff and lovely spa can’t disguise the fact that this is VERY expensive. £30 for a cheese plate 😂

The spa only had 8 beds. Unfortunately during our 3 hours in the spa we couldn’t get any beds which was a shame! The outdoor hot tub was also out of use which we weren’t told of prior to our arrival.

Admittedly we did book the hotel at short notice but the only time available for a table for dinner for two on the Friday was 6pm which was far too early for us. In fact when I walked past the restaurant at 6 it looked as though we would have been dining in splendid isolation as it was empty. We were offered a table in the bar but that is a small room with round pub tables so that wouldn't have worked either. As far as I could tell there was no function on that evening so I would have hoped that for a hotel with a small number of rooms space in the restaurant could have been found later that evening for us. Fortunately the village is a short stroll from the hotel so we ate out. Breakfast although very tasty was somewhat limited in its choices I would have liked to have seen a bit more variety.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the bedroom room was spacious and well furnished whilst the bathroom was large with a powerful shower. The Spa facilities are excellent and despite the fact that both the Friday afternoon and Saturday morning were very hot and sunny early September days, nothing was overcrowded (even got two sunbeds side by side.) I particularly recommend the pool and the tropical rain shower. A place of contrasts as the main hotel and garden are charmingly old and the spa very modern

Spa was nice but very busy because it is more like a health club - so people had reserved the sun loungers for the whole day! So that was a little frustrating - perhaps an area reserved for hotel guests at weekends would be a nice gesture Our TV didn't work - we didn't use it, and didn't ask for it to be fixed to be fair, but probably would expect little things like that to be checked before guests arrive. This hasn't affected how highly I would score the property, just feedback for next time!

Unfriendly and unwelcoming receptionist on checking in. (Another lady who checked us out was very nice.). The room was dark and the window faced directly onto a garden fence. The other wall must have adjoined the kitchen as there was a lot of noise and clattering in the evening. The next morning breakfast was delayed as the gas was 'off'. When it eventually arrived a good hour later English breakfast was cold. Luckily our lovely waitress arranged for us to have a refund for the breakfast. The hotel is overpriced and I will not be returning.

We stayed in the small, cosy room with a comfortable bed and very good bathroom. Excellent evening dinner with good food and very attentive service. Waiting staff at dinner and breakfast very efficient and friendly. We did not use the Spa as full.

Room is on the small side. The pics show it exactly as it is but it would be difficult to spend more than one night due to its size. Would be difficult in winter in particular as there is no where to hang coats and/or wet bath towels.

Lovely hotel. The spa is fantastic and the staff is super friendly (breakfast staff in particular). Great comfy bed.

The spa is wonderful, really peaceful atmosphere. Clean and well maintained. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the gardens are stunning.

In the spa there was a constant beeping noise from machinery. Luckily the weather was gorgeous so we cd be outside and avoid the noise.

Lovely service from the moment we entered the hotel. No stuffiness just cheerful, helpful staff. Beautiful decor. They apologised that there may be a little noise from a party but that it wd finish at 8.30. Liked the fact they anticipated that might be our worry.

My daughters didn’t feel like eating at the restaurant. The menu was fine but not what their taste buds were craving. The pub close by also served Thai food and this certainly hit the spot.

Shower head needed replacement. Did inform receptionist. Seemed to run out of a main course choice on Dinner menu rather quickly which severely limited choice.
