My room always seems to be at the other side of the hotel every time. If would be nice on my next visit to be closer to reception.

People had phones at poolside!!! NO! Room was comfortable but tatty- paint missing in areas, rusty bath rail, hole in duvet cover

Pool and library areas- (but.. no books.) Staff were helpful and request for room with bath was taken seriously and even gluten free snacks in room after dietary requirements stated.

Corridor looked very tired, carpets were very dirty, bedroom doors need repainting. Expensive drinks. Very limited menu in the restaurant.

The fact the lock on my door was temperamental, i returned from work to find my door completely unlocked ......luckily all my valuables were still there . It was very noisy, creaky with people moving around rooms/corridors etc furnishings very dated with worn carpet etc .

Only one negative experience during my stay - I ordered the chilli con carne in the bar one evening for my son and the quantity that was served was TINY!! It was under the heading of main courses and it was around the same price as the main courses but it was the size of a starter (slightly smaller than the starter I ordered in fact). WHY? Nothing else in the hotel seemed like bad value for money so this was a standout disappointment. I should have commented at the time but I was too shocked!

Staying at the Barn Hotel was a really pleasant experience. I had a superior room which was very spacious and quiet - the first hotel I've ever stayed in where I wasn't woken several times by doors banging, floors creaking etc. The staff were universally friendly and helpful. All in all a great experience.

Layout of the room could have been better for the bed's as there wasn't a socket by the single bed and no bedside table

Premium price for B&B and probably due to spa facilities but as a wedding guest didnt have time to benefit from these. Breakfast was very disappointing. Buffet style but items not available or very dry. I had breakfast without egg as no fried available and scrambled looked very over baked. Whilst we got a table when it got busier tables weren't cleared quick enough for other guests to get a table or they were having to wait for fresh items.

Attended for a Wedding and service and Wedding catering and function rooms lovely. Bedrooms very big almost bigger than needed.

I left my coat in the wardrobe, the reception staff member wasn’t very helpful but said he would ask the cleaners and call me back. I never got a call back so we just popped in on the way home about 5 hours later and after 20 mins of hunting turned out the cleaner had it. I’m not sure the reception member I spoke to on the phone even tried to find my coat.

Decent spa facilities, not luxurious but well worth the cheap price. Very good meal in the bar on the evening because we forgot to book and everywhere else was full. Buffet breakfast was also great value for money and was self service. Room was clean and shower was hot and good quality. This was a winner for value for money and everything we needed for one night stay.

Now the bad bit... unfortunately Friday Night Dinner Service was awful. Despite everyone pre booking meals in advance orders were coming out incorrect and meals dumped on the side in the corner to go cold before servers realised where they were supposed to go to. This was a really poor service did hold us or the rest of the guests there in much hope for the service on the wedding day!! Then fire alarm sounded in early hours of Sunday morning not good when everyone recovering from the night before.

Lovely countryside location. We were here for a friend's wedding/anniversary. Absolute brilliant on the Saturday for the wedding everything was perfect room setting and the service provided by your staff

Nice spa facilities but disappointed pool only open till 8.30pm, most places till 9. I went in at 7.30 and then the staff started cleaning up around the pool just after 8, giving the impression they wanted to finish early. As soon as a couple were out of jacuzzi at 8.10, the staff put cover over it. Made me feel uncomfortable been there at that time and that they wanted us to leave.

Room was very nice and clean, plenty of parking. Beds comfortable, plenty of tea and coffee in room. Staff on reception very welcoming.

Restaurant was closed evening we arrived without being previously told on arrival we expected to use restaurant but on check in was told its closed. TV dident work in room but that dident really bother us. Outside of building looking tired and tatty.

We wanted to swim at around 4.30 but we’re told the pool was full capacity. We weren’t aware this may happen. One of reasons property was chosen was because we enjoy swimming. There was someone noisy above us, pacing during the night.

Stayed here for a week or so for work. Great leisure facilities, with a nice bar that did nice food. Not cheap though. Upgraded room was large and comfortable, if slightly dated. In the middle of nowhere, but this was fine as everything you needed was on site. Would return and would recommend
