A 15 min walk up hill to the hotel from the train station , so you have to be fairly fit , going back in was easier

The bed was not comfortable. It was soft. And pillows were both very soft.

Bowls of fruit were really good together with yogurt. Decaf coffee good too. And pasties. I didn’t choose cooked breakfast.

A lovely property and in a perfect location for us, good value at £134 for two nights (not including breakfast).

The bed was incredibly hard, we found it difficult to get a good nights sleep and I woke up both mornings feeling like I’d been kicked by a mule! but that’s our preference, others may like it. The room was very hot even with the heating off. The taps on the bathroom sink were set so far back in the basin it was almost impossible to get your hands under the running water.

We liked the way it was outside of the city centre but others might find it a difficult walk as it was 15 minutes up very steep hills. Good tea and coffee making facilities, except despite requesting solely ‘normal’ coffee we were still replenished with decaf as well, so only enjoyed one cup each both mornings. Lovely hot powerful shower but shower head could do with descaling as the spray went off in all different directions! The property was very well maintained and clean, with friendly and helpful staff.

The ( 4 poster) bed was a little uncomfortable with a ridge down the middle of the mattress. We suggested turning the mattress which was received as delivered in a constructive manner. The property is up quite a steep hill, which we didn't mind but not very clear in information

Property with character, staff very friendly, delicious breakfast

As the whole building is on the slope, parking (especially with SUV) is quite a challenge as there is not much space plus it is all uphill.

Location is good, quite close to the centre and to the Roman bath by foot. Breakfast was delicious.

The room didn’t have a dressing table or area to sit and do you hair & makeup You had your stand and use the mirror above the fireplace. In the room we stayed it the bath/shower had seen better days and could do with replacing. The bath was very narrow and made it hard to stand in for a shower. Breakfast was over priced and not great quality either. Felt like they used tinned mushrooms and the cherry tomatoes on my veggie breakfast smelt like smoked salmon, so I couldn’t eat them. We didn’t have it the 2nd day we went into town and got a cheaper breakfast at Bills with a higher standard and better choice.

The location was great only a short walk to the city centre. The room was a great size and the bed was super comfortable. It felt clean and welcoming. The lounge area was very classically decorated which was nice.

Delightful hotel in an excellent location. Couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Do have the breakfast - it was delicious. Point of interest is that the restaurant, Menu Gordon Jones, is a 4 minute walk away - one of the best meals I have ever had
