Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomRoom not as nice as the photo. Burn marks in carpet. Window cover broken so couldn't open it . No throw or cushions on the bed just white sheets/duvet. Shower head not cleaned properly as water not coming out of half the holes.
Very helpful, friendly staff. Comfy beds. Decent size room. Fairly quiet. Good location for London Zoo and Marylebone Station. Breakfast very basic but tasted nice.

United KingdomI paid extra for a room with a window as they have some rooms without (room 821). Arrived and was given a room without the window, or at least a window of a wall 1 foot away from it. Asked to be moved or the difference refunded as I paid extra for a window. Was told that there was no spare rooms and that I needed to contact Booking.com for the refund of the difference. But also told not to worry as I was only there for one night. I was aware of this as I booked it and charged extra for a window.

United KingdomUnfortunately, the room was located on one side of the street and the restaurant for breakfast was on the opposite side of the street. The room was small and there were no chairs. There was only a small area for hanging coats/trousers but no drawers for other clothing.
The hotel was conveniently located to Euston Station and to Baker Street for other transport. The hotel and the room were clean, and the housemaid service was very good.

United KingdomReading previous reviews we knew the room was going to be small. There is no where to store suitcases so they were out of the way, which could count as a bonus, as there was only 3 hangers in a wardrobe (and not easy to get into as not much room) and no drawers to put any clothes so we was in and out of our case. No USB points but had 3x plugs - one of which was not working and one was in the wardrobe which has the kettle plugged in. Shower tray was cracked and personally think could do with changing but did not effect the use. Carpets have had many feet go across them. Room was generally looking a little tired,
Location was perfect for the trains. Under 5 mins to Marylebone train station, Baker Street approx 5 mins, Edgeware approx 10 min walk, We never tried the breakfast, but did pop down and had a look and the staff were very friendly and helpful - as was the reception staff. Room was clean and plenty of tea/coffee sachets for making a hot drink.. A special effort had been made with towel art for our anniversary which was a lovely surprise.
