Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe did try to get a cup of tea in the morning from the bar as we hadn't booked breakfast and was told they could only do this in the lounge/dining area upstairs. The member of staff looked confused when we just asked for a cup of tea, even though there are tea/coffee facilities available in the room, we don't like the little cartons. We did enquire about a breakfast but a cost of £18 it was a definite no, especially with many other cheaper options available within walking distance. It would have been nice to have a menu with smaller options available to buy instead.
Beautiful lounge upstairs with pool table, lovely bar as you came in with some games to play if so desired. Easy quick in, lovely, welcoming and informative staff, working lifts, beautiful clean room. Was an easy walk to many bars. Check out wasn't until 3 p.m. the next day which I thought was excellent as many hotels kick you out no later than 11, was not sure if this is because I had joined the 'friends' link, just ashame we had to return home earlier than this or we could have enjoyed another day in birmingham

United KingdomFurniture and decorating is tired and worn. Carpets were very dirty and stained. TV remote wasn’t working properly so could not use TV. Sink didn’t drain properly in our families room and they had to use the toilet to dispose of water. Staff on the night shift were rude, when asked for help to use the lift their response was ‘you have legs you can use the stairs you know’.

For a mid range cost the hotel proved to be excellent value for money. Well located with good/clean facilities and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay close to the centre of Birmingham.

Great location and wonderful staff! Room for 2 but only provided with 1 bottle of water and 2 tea bags, would have been nice to have a little more to keep us going! Bathroom also prone to flooding when you have a shower!

FranceThe food and drink was over-priced; a pie and mash was £17, and a pint of beer to accompany it was another £7.
Quiet room on request. There was a stag party staying there, and they made sure that other guests were not disturbed!

United KingdomWhen I checked in the staff stated I needed to pay extra for breakfast the following day as it wasn’t included in my booking price. Fortunately I didn’t do that, and once I’d checked into my room I checked my booking.com confirmation which confirmed breakfast WAS included! Once I made the reception aware they then updated their records. Just glad I hadn’t tapped my card to pay the supplement I was asked for, cos then would have had to sort hassle of refund. 3rd world problems I guess :)
The games facilities were a welcome refreshment from other city centre hotels. There was shuffle board, darts, pool table, and consoles all for use by residents in the hotel. Nice touch!

United KingdomNothing really
A short walk from the station, fairly modern hotel, nice bar as you make your way way through the entrance. Rooms were of a decent size for the price & were clean throughout. Was up in Birmingham for a friends birthday, the bar was still open for a nightcap when we got back about 1.30pm.

United KingdomNoisy guests going back to the rooms at 5am after a night on the pop. Pillows on the beds need replacing as they are lumpy and uncomfortable.
Beautiful lounge and bar areas with pool table, darts and shuffle board. We even had a game of giant jenga! A short walk away from the bull ring for shopping and the canals for food and drinks. Rooms and ensuite spacious and clean. The staff are all friendly and approachable, nothing is too much trouble.

United KingdomWe had 3 people in our room but you only got only 1 bottle of complimentary water... The curtain rail wasn't clever and in the morning, we noticed the rail was falling down (room 525). Nut no a biggy. The shower is amazing, really enjoyed this but the drainage is poor and of course as it its designed as a level wet area, the floor quickly became wet through and dangerous. We had to block the run off with the bath mat as it became very slippy. Parking is alittle complicated, everywhere is double lines along the side streets and theres alot of building work, so alot of the side street bays opposite were suspended. Note: The hotel does have its own car park, £16 for 24hrs OR you can park on the main road!! Its free after 6pm to 8am, but parking signs are poor. Birmingham council run the parking bays, the machine nearest the hotel is broken and refers you to ring a number, which didnt work for us. So download the RingGo app and register then you can pay on that literally before 8am. Then its straight forward, lol.
Modern hotel with great decor, bar and lobby area had great areas to sit and relax, a pool table, shuffleboard and darts with a lovely bar. Upstairs area too so even though you were out of town, you could still enjoy some me time over a drink in a really nice area. Location is excellent, very close to the town centre but far enough away. Bedroom was basic, but designed well and was clean and tidy x Breakfast was amazing, beautifully displayed, lots of unusual choices and just delicious! Staff were lovely and so helpful and your lattes are gorgeous.

United KingdomNot much could have been better, but there weren't enough tea bags in the room for us both to have a cup of tea in the morning. Other than that, everything was fine!
The location is in central Birmingham, so it is brilliant for going out or for shopping. Very close to the train station as well, so it is easy to walk between places. The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough to help us. The rooms and beds were really comfortable. There is a lovely lounge area on the first floor with comfy seats and a bar. This was a great place to stay!
