Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaThe price like all of London is expensive. For $900 for 4 nights this room was just passable because of the location. The bathrooms are very tiny and the shower was difficult to deal with, taps are poor & water pressure was very weak.
We didn’t do their breakfasts. The room is small but the beds were decent enough. The staff are friendly.

United KingdomOur room was on the top floor but it was really small. Toilet with shower was so small that you could hardly turn around unfortunately. Bed was really hard so it made sleeping hard together with a noise of some sort of boiler with water witch is turning on every couple of minutes. But for three nights it was ok.
Hotel was very close to everything what we wanted to see. Breakfast is included in price and you can pick from selection what you want.

HungaryThe towels and the pillows were a little bit dirty and stinky. We asked room servicing, which they did, changed them, yet the new ones happened to be stinky again.
The location of the hotel was perfect. Hyde Park, metro station and various restaurants were close by. First we got a room facing the street but we asked for a new one immedietly and the new one was quite. The night manager was flexible to fix it, even though we arrived at 0200, because of our late plane.

SpainMind there is a lift up to the 3rd floor and then for the 4th you have to climb the stairs.
Small, cosy room where you have all you need for a short stay. The space is limited, though perfectly optimized, to make the stay comfortable. All the basics are in place. The bathroom was refurbished. All in order with the hot water and the heating! The team at reception, very kind!
