How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Plug sockets, none near the bed and the ones on the wall aren't fit for chargers where the lead comes from the bottom of the plug

Stair no lift. I should have asked for ground floor room but staff did offer to assist us with luggage. Property looking a little tired.
Convenient for stay with lots of amenities. Hotel was quiet & staff very friendly.

The fact it says on the website ‘we do not charge a fee for dogs’ then I got charged without notice £20. The dog didn’t even move from her bed on the floor. Doesn’t even cast!

The hotel needs a refresh inside. there is no lift so not great for accessibility. The carpets in the stairwells need replacing as they are worn. it generally needs an uplift.
We were travelling through so was a great stopover. I was dubious when I saw the price and the review rating but I have to say was pleasantly surprised. the staff were lovely the rooms were basic but very clean. Considering we were on the motorway it was very quiet. We didn’t eat there but if we were to stay again we definitely would. great places to stop if your travelling through. I would definitely stay again!

For an 'executive' room, nothing felt very executive. Blue pleather seating and stains, shower and bathroom looked dated and sealed in. Room was very basic. Whole hotel felt like it needs a massive revamp and refresh and really did not match the tone of the room. Fridge in room was just plonked to one side and wasn't even switched on when arrived

Perfect for what we needed which was a night stay as we travelled down South. Arrived at around 10pm and was checked in immediately. Staff double checked that the car reg was correct which was nice. Room clean, modern, nice and spacious. We booked an Executive Double Room and this came with a double and a single bed (wasn't needed). Bathroom was fine and shower powerful & hot. Bed was comfortable and slept well. No issues with noise. Overall, would happily stay here again as it met the requirements for an overnight stay whilst travelling.

The place was conformable but the decor was a little tired, maybe could do with new carpets, flooring and maybe a lick of paint.
Staff were welcoming, happy to serve me and as a 1 night place to stay before my business meeting it did the job.

The shower head was black and mouldy as was the shower itself. No other issues but I felt unclean after a shower
Over all it’s great. Well priced. Great location for us when we travel

Hard to find at the welcome break services, very poor signage . Not a great location but convenient I suppose for business travellers

Easy check-in and easy check-out. Bar was available for a quick relaxing drink, the room was clean with a comfortable bed. That is all I need for an overnight stay.

Breakfast was good but after we had ours there a bit of a wait for the items to be stocked up - sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns and about 6-8 people waiting. My sister took less than she wanted as she knew I was behind her. Great coffee machine. Juice a long way from the glasses so not easily spotted and tea bags on top of the coffee machine so not easily spotted. Staff were slow to clear the tables but it wasn’t overly busy, but looked messy.
Friendly staff. Clean room. Easy check in. Free WiFi. Value for money.
