Turn down service letting themselves in the room while I was taking a bath, so best to lock the door or put the DND notice on the pitside. A purely accidental issue but one that was a little embarrassing in the moment.

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. We were met with big smiles and greeting, our bags were taken at through to reception. Then a brief tour of the hotel, as we were shkwn to our room. Every member of staff was courteous, friendly and helpful, nothing was a bother and everything was met with a smile and attention to detail. Lovely grounds and quiet location, although you are in a hotel in its own grounds, it feels like you're in the forest. We dined in the conservatory and the food was superbly presented and accommodated our requirements. Overall an amazing place to stay and unwind and enjoy the peace of the forest.

Room cleaning needs to be improved , a lot of dust around the objects (eg telephone and lights). Indoor pool is not heated which was a disappointment.

Amazing location and facilities, room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast and restaurants food is exceptional. Staff is extremely polite.

No heating other than aircondition that was blowing all night. - Dried food remains on waiter’s clothes.

Some of the food felt very much like standard pub fare (we ate in the conservatory and had the breakfast). At breakfast, stay away from the full English and go for the fantastic sour dough with avocado and their great eggs

The thing I was slightly disappointed in was the size of the indoor pool. However, the treatments we had were very relaxing. I'd definitely go again. The grounds are gorgeous.

The food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent and a great experience in the wood paneled dining room. We had a couple of little glitches with our room. in the early evening on the Saturday night when we went to shower the water was tepid plus there was a tapping noise as if water was dripping somewhere and we were concerned it may keep us awake. I was offered an alternative timeshare apartment to shower and to move to that in light of the tapping. It was established that one of the boilers was faulty hence the cooler water but that did subsequently get fixed. We were also offered a move to the apartment which in the end we decided to decline as with the bathroom door shut the tapping was less obvious but reception said we could still move even during the night as the night porter was aware of the situation. In addition the hotel covered the cost of our wine at dinner. I therefore feel the hotel acted swiftly and in a proportionate way. Overall staff were vey helpful and attentive.

Very comfortable and spacious bedroom. Very interesting building with a mixture of old grandeur and modern elegance. Beautiful forest surroundings. A calm and relaxing space. The staff were all charming, friendly and attentive.

Everything was truly excellent!

Beautiful property in an amazing location. All the staff went above and behind for anything we needed. In particular Harry that greeted us on our arrival and showed as around the beautiful property and explained the history of it. Also Gerry was extremely polite and charming ensuring we where well looked after at dinner, breakfast and afternoon tea. He was very friendly and made us feel at home and took special care of us and nothing was too much trouble to make our dinning experience truly special in every way.

Nothing, everything was immaculate

Not only was the property extremely beautiful and immaculately clean the staff really are the cherry on top here. I have never been treated so well and with such kindness. They paid attention to detail and made sure I had the best birthday. Big thank you to George, Becky, Neve, Tom and Lana, they really made my stay, so kind and caring, they made my birthday just so much better.
