Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe stairway upto the bedrooms from the rear of the restaurant was a little tired and shabby. It also smelt of cigarette smoke. The bedframe was metal & had sharp edges to it.
The staff were friendly, the bar/restaurant area was lovely, and breakfast was really nice, which was served until 12pm. Nice touches to the room - hairdryer, ghd hair straighteners, smeg fridge, Dyson fan and lovely coffee machine.

United KingdomAccess to the rooms is via the restaurant. Literally pass the kitchen to get to a stairwell to them. More like rooms above a bar as opposed to a hotel. A bit noisy out the back with glass recycling. Rooms also a bit dark and mines was very small.
Great location and the restaurant and bar are nicely decorated. Mini bar, coffee machine and straightners all in the room are a nice touch.

United KingdomOur room faced out to a back street at ground level and seemed a little exposed when the curtains were opened. Lighting in the rooms is very 'atmospheric'. Could have done with some additional brighter lighting. Maybe a little spruce up of the grouting/woodwork in the bathroom and a change of the rug in the room would have given a more pristine feel? None of these issues impacted our stay - but always room for improvement!☺️

Even though it has been decorated really nicely, the shower was leaking and had clearly been leaking for some time because the back board behind the toilet had clear signs of damp/ damage. Every morning we had to put several towels down on the floor. I alerted staff to the issue after our first night and they provided us with extra towels.
The restaurant is lovely and the staff were friendly. The location was good and the room was spacious.

United KingdomOur only quibble was that the heating didn’t work in our room but the staff provided a portable heater which was good. Only realised later that there was already a heater stored in the cupboard!
Lovely boutique-style hotel. Great touches in the room (fluffy towels and robes, coffee machine, minibar etc). Really helpful staff. Nice breakfast.
