I think parking should not be an additional charge for residents. The cooked breakfast could be more comparable (one day the scrambled eggs were beautifully soft, creamy and the next day they were solid, harder with no added ingredients). Also it might be appreciated to perhaps discount an evening meal if you are a resident.

The breakfast was amazing although slightly hit and miss as different chefs were obviously on duty different days. The bedroom suite which we were upgraded to was fantastic. We didn’t use the spa because it was being worked on for a couple of days but it looked nice. We ate in the hotel restaurant on a couple of occasions and the food was fantastic.

I would say the spa facilities were amazing however we went in the spa around hast past nine and the jacuzzi was still quite cold and the sauna was too but they were only things I would have to say other than that it was fabulous.

We was kindly informed we was upgraded on arrival however I would like to know the reason for this.

I thought it very cheeky to advise you there was a £10 per night parking charge after you have booked and paid also the £1.60 service charge on bar drinks which are dearer than public house prices anyway.

The location and the excellent bus service in the area. The choice of food at both breakfast and dinner was very varied and you could never be stuck for choice.

We did not like the room at times we bumped into the wall as we reached for tea/coffee.

We liked the scenery and the spa area.

The service at breakfast was quite poor for a place of this quality, toast was burnt and had to chase the tea, staff looked a bit harassed.

2nd time visiting rothay garden hotel and it was just as perfect as the first time, had food in the restaurant this stay and it was phenomenal. The staff are so friendly and nothing is ever too much, the room was clean and had a lovely view. Everything about the stay was perfect and will be our go to place when we come to the lakes!

For the price of the hotel, parking should really be included, especially since vehicles are not particularly protected from the public. 10 Pounds a day is a little dear.

We really enjoyed the location and were upgraded which was a bonus as we ended up with a room with a balcony and fab views. Room was spacious with everything you expect for the price, bathroom practical but a little tired. We had breakfast which we would heartedly recommend, fresh and copious with many options. We also took advantage of the restaurant which was great and priced well. Spa was basic, but most welcome after a long and wet walk. Staff was outstanding: very pleasant and helpful, attentive but discreet.

Reception team could be a bit more welcoming and friendly.

We were a little worried about this booking due to some of the reviews, we shouldn’t have worried as it was amazing, top quality breakfast, amazing facilities and the room was great with great selection of drinks and biscuits.

The car parking charge - £10 per night. Food and drink are expensive. Gratuities added automatically to everything. We had two meals and a modest number of drinks which added up to more than the room booking. We'd stay again but eat out more

Beautiful setting, beautiful grounds, comfortable room, good food, friendly staff.

No gluten free sausage which is so easy to come by, more meat (no wheat) the staff were not up to speed with Gluten issues as they put normal toast and gluten free toast in the same basket and it had to be returned for obvious reasons. Parking charges were r and expensive (include the parking in the price so people feel like it’s included) I can’t image there are that many people paying those prices that are just ramblers and have no car! If they are the minority knock £10 off their bill pn. Advertised price on booking .com said it included HB package and when I rang hotel they said no that’s not the case, there was some confusion, sightly ambiguous so had to call hotel and ended up booking the lesser deal with meal and cost more. Was husbands birthday, 10/3/24 the day we stayed , normally in past in places we get a nice card from hotel but nothing or even towels made like a swan on bed etc

Loved the room facing the gardens , huge suit room, loved the bath and seperate shower, wardrobe, etc it was bigger than a flat I once had! Staff were amazing especially restaurant manager, very polite and professional had a great chat with him in the breakfast room and will probably stay in touch personally. Lovely people from other lands! Very accommodating regarding my coeliac disease however … below. Impeccably clean, great that we didn’t have to book for the spa like last time after lockdown.
