I was happy with my stay, there wasn't anything I didn't enjoy about it.

This was a short business trip so, because of work commitments, I was unable to appreciate the full extent of the facilities. However, I found the hotel to be of a very high quality, comfortable, clean and the staff were really helpful and pleasant.

Being only 15 mins from Chester City centre but felt miles away from anywhere. Set in beautiful grounds this hotel is so peaceful. Lovely walled garden and nice areas to sit & enjoy a drink outside. Our room had a balcony with a gorgeous view of the garden and felt like a mini holiday. The pool area opens at 7am, so perfect to use first before heading out for the day. The food is excellent as was the service.

I think when you come for a bed and breakfast, all breakfasts should be included. We were at another property in Wrexham, a small Pub with rooms and they allowed an unlimited choice and quantity. A high end resort as yours could follow suit. A suggestion.

Cobwebs hanging from ceiling in room, large rusty patch on ceiling in sitting area, wrappers found between settee cushions. Needed fan heater on all the time as rooms very cold

Parts of the hotel were obvioulsy under refurbishment or due to be so loooked a little tired, with wallpaper peeling off and parts freshly painted and others not.

Rooms were superb and facilities for the family, pool etc., were excellent. The staff at dinner were brilliant, very attentive to the needs of a family of 5 (with 3 kids under 10!)

Room was nice. Never had Breakfast but Dinner was very nice. The pool was great. The Pool maintenance bloke was helpful and asked what we thought of the pool temperature, which was thoughtful.

The breakfast menu had changed abit and even though we paid in advance for breakfast there was a supplement to pay if you wanted a full English and other choices! Abit disappointing as last year there was no extra to pay! Probably will book room only next time!! One lamp at the side of the bed in our room wasnt working! We swapped the bulbs around and it was fine! We forgot to tell reception when we checked out! Room 209

Love the hotel and the location being a stone's throw away from Chester! We love the charm of the hotel with the dark wood walls and old fashioned features! Our room was clean and adequate and in fact was the same room we had last year which was abit weird! Enjoyed the spa steam room and sauna jacuzzi and pool area! We went there early evening before we out for dinner into Chester! It wasnt too busy which was great! We were going to go in the morning after checking out but it was really busy! We stayed Saturday to Sunday just one night at the end of January 2024!

The bedroom had no heating and a portable heater was provided whilst awaiting heating to be addressed however this didn’t happen I have cops and eventually was moved to a room on 2nd floor this was early evening x we were not in Federer any competition for this and consequently my asthma/copd worsened preventing me from using pool in morning

Unspoiled Character

The food is excellent but basic. The breakfast is sparse and disappointing. I made my thoughts clear - especially as there was a £5 premium added to a full English Breakfast that was only 1 sausage, 1 rasher of bacon.

The spa is perfect. Warm water, comfortable loungers. The spa staff are really helpful and friendly.

Really disappointed with the bedrooms, they need an upgrade to match the rest of the property!

The staff were really friendly, breakfast was lovely and pool area was as shown in pictures.

We were in room six which was a standard room I think, bathroom needed updating looked tired. Only fault.

The cushions on the seats in the spa were stained and dirty they didn’t look like they got changed very often. It was also disappointing that you could only choose from the set menu in the restaurant which didn’t have as much choice.

Room wasn’t the cleanest with drawings on the wall. Bed was sagging in the middle so wasn’t comfortable. Curtains don’t stop the light outside. Breakfast wasn’t the highest quality food items for the price.

Has a spa and nice bar. Nice grounds too.

Poor TV signal, kept jumping Price of drinks were a bit on the expensive side After the evening meal, we had high expectations for breakfast but was a bit disappointed. Limited buffet, didn’t get toast but a good sausage muffin

The food was amazing, £35 for 3 courses was a good deal I thought. Fine food, amazing. Comfortable bed and good spa facilities.
