Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot easy to find your way around the building to rooms, a bit of a maze, but it is part of the charm I guess.
Nice location by the river, close enough to the train station and the city centre. Nice staff and overall clean and pleasant, didn’t get a chance to see too much of the hotel facilities, but had a really easy and comfortable stay, I would go back.

United KingdomThe fact that Vegan yogurt and sausage where not out as part of the breakfast display . Having to ask specially for it made us feel like we where coming out every time. It was available so should be out on display the same as non vegan choices . Lots of non vegan people will choose a non dairy yogurt and sausages as a health choice . This is the only hotel we have stayed in that doesnt have it all out , it seams you are behind the times on this and need to catch up
Location and the coffee behind the bar being available at breakfast was delicious . We would never choose the help yourself coffee as its always awful , so we where pleased we had the choice

United KingdomThe breakfast is a little disappointing. Although there is plenty on offer, it doesn’t feel on keeping with the hotel standard being a self service buffet. I much prefer a menu.
The location is great, a nice stroll to the castle. We stayed in one of the separate buildings, room was nice and spacious. Reception gave me a rose on arrival as international women’s day which was a lovely gesture.

United KingdomRoom was very comfortable but be aware that the newer rooms are in a building across the road and it can be quite a walk from the hotel reception to your room. Breakfast was in the brassiere and self service and felt more like a cafeteria than a 4 star hotel
Location was excellent, very close to Windsor castle and lovely pubs and restaurant across the bridge just outside the hotel.

United KingdomOur room (7) didn’t look anything like the pictures we were shown as a room example on booking. This left us feeling a little disappointed. There was nothing wrong with our room but it hasn’t been refurbished recently and the bathroom grout had been painted to disguise it needed replacing. The tea/coffee facilities in room were basic and only 2 tea bags which was the smallest quantity I’ve ever seen in a hotel room. I felt mislead by the room description particularly that it was soundproofed. We were woken by noisy neighbours who rose early and creaking floor boards which can be understandable in a hotel, but proved the room isn’t soundproof and this was frustrating.
Fantastic location right by the river and pedestrian bridge to Eton. Our room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the extra touches like bathrobes and slept well. The hotel had character and some lovely communal spaces. Breakfast was excellent with good variety and we particularly enjoyed the scrambled egg which was the best we’d had in a restaurant buffet for a long time. We particularly enjoyed overlooking the river during breakfast. Staff were excellent and we were very impressed by the service at breakfast. It was refreshing to have properly trained staff who met requests quickly and had an attention to detail that has been sorely missing in the hospitality industry in recent years. We weren’t kept waiting and dirty crockery was swiftly removed. Great job by the staff team who we found faultless.

United KingdomWebsite advertised "parking" but was actually off site and at extra cost. Booked a king room but it was not really a king not large. No coffee maker. TV in terrible position (45 degrees from bed) we both had neck strain.

United StatesOur room was in Windsor House facing the train station. The pub next door to the station had live music until 1pm on a Wednesday which was clearly audible even with the windows closed. The breakfast was basic and some of the “hot” items were cold.
Great location and nice view over the Thames from the restaurant. Bed was comfortable and the shower was nice.

AustraliaReception could have double checked comments on booking form as we advised there was a 2nd child in one of the rooms but at time of check in the receptionist was surprised to hear there was 5 of us in the party, not 4 as per his information, despite my email confirmation with additional booking comments.
The staff were very helpful, friendly and polite. Shower was fantastic. Room was comfortable, although a bit of a walk from the reception.

NetherlandsI had been ages ago since i stayed in a really old hotel with squeeky floors, slamming doors and outdated plumbing. I had to adjust.
All staff and service was great, but waiter Benito made me feel more welcome than I have ever felt in any hotel in my life. It really made my stay. The castle is litterally around the corner, and the brasserie offers a beautiful view of the river and the gracious swans. Good wifi everywhere.

SpainBar restaurant staff obviously don't know how to react to female solo guests .... I kept being asked if I was waiting for someone! (Do they ask solo male guests the same question?) I felt uncomfortable Disappointed the spa was closed... maybe advanced notice would help. Evening menu very limited and obviously pre prepared as the "chef" was unable to produce a pizza without cheese!
Excellent breakfast.
