Excellent premises, spotless accommodation, friendly and welcoming proprietors. Breakfast was excellent and with different foods to choose from. Easy access to get to the hotel. Lovely for us and for our dog.

One of the male staff I felt seemed rude to me. Whether it is because I am of a younger generation I am not sure but felt like I was being patronized which made me feel rather uncomfortable. The other member of staff was lovely and welcoming.

Its a beautiful location in Devon, The hotel is in immaculate condition with very comfortable rooms. We didn't use the BBQ or swimming pool as it was raining which we were looking forward too but Unfortunaly nothing can be done about that!. it was a beautiful hotel. Disliked · nothing

Excellent hotel in great location with great hosts. Rooms comfortable and good sized bathrooms. Food at the hotel at both dinner and breakfast was really good using good quality ingredients. An impressive buffet spread at breakfast. We were made very welcome by Stephen and Sarah and they are first class hosts, making sure that we had everything that we needed. A place to return to.

I can’t think of anything. Perhaps the price is a bit high if you have other priorities for spending. Ideal for retirees like ourselves. Stunning views in this part if Devon. Not far from the sea.

Remote but easy to find. Wonderful home cooking. It is run by a very attentive couple who made sure that our stay was fantastic. Swimming pool very clean. Wonderful hosts seem to do everything. Not at all corporate.

Slightly self-conscious becasue we were the only residents for four of our five nights, but it did mean we received a very personal service.

To provide the requested twin beds, we were given two separate rooms, each with king-size beds!

Our dinner on the first night was provided, as requested, but no evening meal was available on the second and third nights. While we did have a fully fitted kitchen, as we were on holiday, we would have preferred to have had dinner at the hotel.

The breakfast room was bright and airy, with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. As a lover of nature, there were interesting plants in the room, some I had never encountered before, and there were interesting pictures on the walls. The breakfast itself was more than ample, with several cereals to choose from, and fruits and nuts as well. When at one point my husband asked for a boiled egg he was provided with two, and when we asked for just a minimum amount of toast, we were given more than we requested - examples of the generosity of the owners throughout our stay.

The owners were very welcoming, They went above and beyond with anything and everything. The place itself is beautiful, clean, fresh, smells so nice and even the sounds of the surroundings are adorable.. You hear peace with the odd interruption of sheep, birds and cows. I live 45 minutes away.. I definitely found my bolt hole 🤗!!!

The wifi was a bit spotty and didn't seem to work in our room, but that's just a first world problem!

What a beautiful spot. We enjoyed the whole experience from the owners welcome, beautiful well appointed room, fantastic dinner and breakfast. Steve & Sarah couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. I wish we could spend more time in this wonderful place.

We certainly didn't like having to return to the big city!

A variety of foods were presented buffet style at breakfast. A cooked breakfast could also be ordered and was brought to the table. The dining room was spacious and delightfully decorated with views out to the garden and surrounding countryside. Everywhere was beautifully decorated and gave a comfortable and relaxed feel. The hotel is in a wonderful location. We were upgraded to The Diary one of the self catering cottages as it provided a cooler room during the heatwave.
