The only drawback during the stay was that the menu selection was a little limited for the evening meal and the time allowance for breakfast was fairly short.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and the food was of a high quality with generous portion sizes. The hotel and room were well kept and very clean and comfortable, and the general ambience was pleasing.

Room was a bit cold at times. A few cracks in the window would let the cold in. Shower was a bit small.

Amazing location. Our room had a fantastic view. Very friendly staff / owners. Food was very good, both breakfast and evening meals. Good selection of beers and very reasonably priced.

Didn't like the fact that room 7 looked straight into the room next door which gave no privacy, which is just a bit of a niggle, also got a bit noisy as we were directly above the bar and dining room. So maybe ask for a quite room.

Great views out side our room, lovely breakfast, also had an evening meal which was cooked nice friendly staff, gave advice on where to visit, Great location for nice walks on the door step. .

The hotel is starting to look a little old in places.

A hotel in a perfect location with great hosts and fab food. A must place to stay when visiting the peak district. Top of our list on places to stay. Can't wait to go back...

    Nothing

The room was lovely and the evening meal good. Breakfast too was nicely presented and I enjoyed it. As a single traveller I felt the price very steep. It would not had felt as much had two of us been sharing the room at the same price.

Check-in was quite late (6pm), although we were told we could arrive earlier.

The quality of the food for breakfast and dinner was excellent, and the choices good. The packed lunches were great too. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I would have preferred that staff wore masks and also other guests particularly when it was crowded. Covid has not gone away yet.

The food was very good with enough choices for a vegetarian/vegan like myself. The staff were efficient.

Only slight negative was shower was quite small and only one window was one we could open so felt quite warm at times. But they are nitpicking negatives

Location was amazing, outside of Bakewell to avoid all the people and parking issues, great views over the valley. Beautiful building, room was lovely, bed nice and comfortable. All staff were friendly and helpful. Ate dinner in the first night and food was lovely as was the breakfast each morning

We had the room in the loft. It was a spacious room. It had no hair dryer. We stayed at a particularly warm weekend and the room got very hot. There is 1 small window to let air in. There is a fan in the room but i feel ventilation in the room could be improved. Possibly replace the windows to modern sky lights which open more.

The food was lovely and the location is great for walks in the local area. Easy routes to other areas by car. Staff were friendly.

Had the top attic room, very big and comfortable but no views. A bit run down/low quality decor for price.

Friendly owners with good advice about local area. Room was very big and clean. Bed very comfortable. Location is perfect if you're here to hike! The pub also has great food + views. Breakfast is your typical full english (i.e. very good)
