To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomPhoto on the booking.com website was different to the one bedroom suite which we had.Instead of any view in the bedroom window was facing a wall like 50 cm behind the window.Also massive surprise was after the breakfast in the room we had to wash our dishes because in the apartment was washing machine not a dishwasher!!!Very disappointing.

SwedenThe sofa bed was very old a squiky, not too comfortable. Very steep stair to master bed, good to know if travelling with older people. Too few table lights to be cozy and bright without having to roof lights on.
Great location, close to tube and some shops. Nice breakfast and a gorgeus patio outside where we would have had breakfast if weather would have alowed it.

IsraelAlthough I informed the hotel, I will arrive late at nigh and they replied me back that someone will be waiting for me at the front desk with my room ready, No one knew I was coming and I had to wait in the middle of the night after a day long trip not knowing if I’ll have a room ready 30 minutes. Due to that, they informed me they won’t charge my room and then on my last day as was checking out they suddenly asked for Cancellation fee over 100 pounds .
The location was amazing. 4 minutes walk from the tube. Although it was a great location it wasn’t too crowded. The place looked elegant modern and clean.

MauritiusAccess to the building is through a few steps. Can be a minor challenge if you have to carry heavy bags.
Location is excellent with an underground station nearby. Easy acccess to anywhere in London A Waitrose store is at 5 mins walk and plenty of eating options within a few minutes walk. These include Indian, Lebanese, Italian as well as Nandos, Burger King, and several Coffee shops. We booked an apartment and enjoyed the flexibility of having our breakfast at our own pace and time. Kitchen facilities are okay Special mention to Mrs Carnegie who was very attentive and empathic to address a concern we had over taxi booking and renting of umbrellas. Would give her a rating of 10 / 10

Great location. Good sized room and with the heater turned on most of the time, the room was nice and warm. Great team of staff especially the bellboy Shamal, very accommodating and eager to help us.
