The breakfast was incredible, every day we had something different and each time it was brilliant. Also the location is perfect it’s so near to so many walks some of which are a short drive and some you can walk by starting at the hotel! It’s also only a 10 minute walk from both Windermere and Bowness on Windermere’s centres. Would recommend to everyone!

The room was very cosy the staff were very friendly and helpful , there was an honesty bar which we loved as we were snowed in , we would definitely stay again breakfast was really nice and lots of choice .

St John’s Lodge offers a perfect stay for couples in the heart of Windermere. Our host Rich was incredibly welcoming and hospitable. He actually welcomed us in at very short notice as we were caught up in the snow that happened at the start of December and meant we were unable to reach our intended destination - so we made a quick booking of two nights in St John’s Lodge! We ended up having a great time! The location is perfect for Windermere and Bowness. The breakfast is the best I have ever had at a B&B, and even better than most cafes I’ve been to (all included in the price!). There is a full 3-4 page menu to pick a hot breakfast from and it’s made with quality ingredients, alongside cold, continental style breakfast items! The effort and love that goes into the minor details at this place is evident and makes all the difference. I had a great, restful night sleep both nights. The bed was extremely comfy and the room was cosy and clean. Despite the B&B being full during our stay there was no noise or disturbance ever! Would recommend to anyone!

Very welcoming host, amazing breakfast and lovely room. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The spa was a nice added extra, although as it is a community health club it is nothing luxurious, but has a brilliant jacuzzi. Unbelievable price for the standard of everything provided, thank you so much, I highly recommend this place

Had a great stay at St John’s Lodge! The room was lovely with everything we needed and a great location in Windermere. Breakfast was excellent, a lot of hot options. Rich and Ada were lovely and very attentive with great knowledge of things to do in the surrounding area.

Nothing really - this was an excellent place to stay.

Excellent bedroom, comfortable bed and clean and spacious en suite. The breakfast was very good, with a great range of options. The owner is an excellent host and a gentleman; the other staff are pleasant too. The location is perfect for exploring Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere, as well as the wider Lake District.

I didn’t like how the lady at the kitchen talked to my wife when my wife asked about breakfast, she was a bit rude.

Loved the owner Rich. He was nice, polite and really helpful. Gave us a lot of information about Windermere.

A warm and welcoming B&B where the hosts gave exceptional customer care and offered suggestions on nearby walks and nice places to eat. My wife & I chose ' The Lakes' to celebrate our anniversary and were not disappointed and had a great stay.
