Inadequate bar and lounge in evening. Poor courtesy tray in room. Pestered by email for payment during our stay. Had to pay by bacs on return home as no card payments accepted.

Breakfast was great and good choice. Location was also good as central to most places and areas you could visit. Even walking was ok as good sites to see and close to the beachfront. The hotel was central to all that and easy to access also.

Only thing I would suggest is that the bar stay open longer. At present the bar closes after dinner.

Staff were so accommodating and friendly. The hotel decor and furnishings made you feel as though you were in a stately home. Very clean and room was spacious and cleaned daily. Breakfast choice was good and food was of a high standard. On site parking was a plus for me when booking. Location was excellent, 10 minutes from beach, just 15 minute coastal walk to Paignton and approximately one and half hour coastal walk into Torquay. If you are not feeling energetic there are bus stops nearby and bus/train stations in Paignton. Brixham harbour is lovely and the steam train to Dartmouth is a great day out. Overall both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our first holiday in England for many years!

The location was good. The breakfast room was amazing and the breakfast was fresh and they were generous with portion sizes. The decor in the breakfast room is beautiful and the background music creates a relaxing ambience.

We had to order an evening meal in the morning after breakfast and also book a time slot for the evening meal while on holiday this can be difficult as we had planned to go out sightseeing ever day, also you might not want what you confirmed for the evening meal after a days walking and sightseeing, the hotel only stocks bottle beer and no service after 9pm

The owner and staff were excellent, the standard of the Breakfast and dinner was of very high standard and the service was first class, we had breakfast every morning and one evening meal, the dining room was very spacious with nice views

Unfortunately, no fault of hotel, but had 3 nights in extremely hot temperatures and as our room was at top of hotel and only had 1 window was very hot. A fan was provided after asking for one.

Nice clean hotel with friendly staff and very good breakfast. Very close to a nice beach but slightly further walk into Paignton itself. Excellent parking.

The room could have been a little bigger, not that we were spending much time there during the day, due to the great weather.

The bed was a nice size. The breakfast service was very good and the times it was served should suit everyone. You could tell that the management staff were very organised. It was great to be located just minutes from Young's Park and the beach.

Bar closed very early before 8 some nights, and as there were only two other pubs in the area which were either closed or not serving food and alcohol, found the evenings very unsociable. No information for any visitors venues could have been due to Covid but found some in other places

The room (and because of the weather) was very hot. It meant the window had to be left wide open and the bathroom door left open at night to get airflow in from the window there. The breakfast on the first two mornings was brilliant. However, the breakfast on the third morning was poor. The scrambled egg was watery, the bacon rock hard and both not edible. Also, on checkout, I was asked if I had received an email because the hotel preferred bank transfers as a mode of payment. When I said I hadn't they asked if I could do one when I got home as they wanted to save money on card transaction fees. When I said I wanted to pay by credit card they finally agreed that I could pay by card. Better pre stay-communications needed between hotel and guests if this type of payment is needed.

The location of the hotel is absolutely brilliant. Only a short walk from the beach. The hotel itself is a stunning building and there was plenty of parking spaces. The room was cleaned and towels changed on a daily basis. Furthermore, I had broken down on the way to Devon. When I called to say I would be late they were very accommodating in giving me the door pass code and left my room key in the foyer when I arrived. I thank them for this. Very friendly morning staff.

Its a shame the bar in the restaurant doesn't stay open longer in the evening, it would have been nice to get to know some of the other guests. The chef can't cook steaks.

I arrived early but was still accommodated. the staff were very attentive. the table i was given in the restaurant was perfect for a single person, looking out of the window towards the sea. The chef does very good sauces. The breakfast has lots of choice.

We had a ground floor room and unfortunately the room above had very creaking floorboards which was a bit annoying but it is an old property and it did not spoil our stay..

on arrival we had a very warm welcome and our room was read earlier than expected (which was a bonus) plenty of on site parking at no extra cost. Breakfast was perfect we chose the full english which set you up perfectly. The location of the hotel also perfect just a couple of minutes walk to the beach.
