Breakfast could have been included in the price, the price of breakfast English at 35 pounds was ott. The cleanliness of the floors could be better, dust on basin supports and around radiator pipes.

Breakfast was not included in the high price.

No USB sockets in the bedroom (although have to admit we didn't ask for an adapter.)

The bedroom was impressively large with a good view over the river and deer park (although sadly the weather was damp and grey during our short stay). The decor is very good and in keeping with the interesting history of the place, even with a gallery of old photos. In all quite luxurious.

Service is impeccable, nothing is too much for the staff at Swinton. The food is brilliant too, so many walks to go on would also recommend the Swinton Bivouac cafe for a walk and lunch. A dog bed was set up with doggy treats in the room, a genuinely dog-friendly hotel. We will continue to return to Swinton!

Too hot in the rooms and restaurant, I think we have all got used to cooler homes and this was very hot. Was able to turn the radiator off however. Everything was extra, booking through booking.com was room only, dinner extra, spa entrance extra, treatment extra breakfast extra. Came to £600 for a night which is too much.

The Baron room in the coach house block was beautifully refurbished, very comfortable. Great bathroom and shower. Dinner in the Terrace was exceptionally good, we had a number of the small plates, all delicious. Great massage in the spa.

Maybe the questioning of not tipping at the end of our stay. In Australia it’s not expected, although it is more common now. We would only tip for exceptional well beyond what would be expected and being paid for that person(s) service. So if the service is great, which it was, but the prices are also in the top bracket of what you are paying, we believe we have paid the correct amount. Our expectations matched our experiences but not to give additional tips. My wife was surprised to have even been asked. It was “the” only thing that was a negative. If it happened a second time we wouldn’t return again.

The hotel and location are fantastic, plenty to see and activities to do in the area or at the hotel itself. Breakfast’s were the best we have ever had and we have been travelling internationally for 4 years in is our fourth trip to England.

The wine list needs a rethink, did not do the restaurant justice in terms of scope and range. .

This is about as authentic as it can get for the archetypal stately home/country estate hotel, it was fantastic.

Beware though, we paid a fairly.significant sum for basically a room. No entrance to spa. No breakfast. No evening meal. So we ended up spending a lot more to gain entrance to spa and evening meal. It didn't put us off, but it did leave us feeling a bit deflated. We arrived early, in the past we have been allowed to head to spa (just 30 mins early), bit this time we normally only had to pay extra, but had to wait. Whilst waiting, having heard the young man swho showed people to their rooms "have you been before" it occurred to me that a place of such high quality would know this. It will be on their booking system. Our snack was forgotten when we ordered bread with our drinks. The Resdiary printout wasn't up to date, so people.arrivong for dinner weren't on the booking sheet. Again, you can see if people have been before. It's the little things that would make the visit amazing. If we hadn't been before we.would have been put off.

We love Swinton Park.and have been around 6 times. The spa is great, rooms.lovely, staff good. Definitely go. The evening meal was great ans food to see everything working in the spa again.

Thermometer missing from wild swimming lake. Bar prices differed on the drinks list to the bar where they were 30% more expensive and the bar staff seemed inexperienced she actually said it wasn’t her normal role she was just covering and there is no real atmosphere in the bar but that is okay if you want a quiet civilised drink and read. Samuels restaurant menu looked expensive £38 for pigeon so we ate at a pub in Masham

Firstly book direct do not use Booking.com as you will not get access to the spa area included! Been here several times still has a feeling of grandeur lovely grounds to wander around and amazing spa, the salt steam room was a favourite. The cinema room has lots of board games, chess and billiards and the drawing rooms are very stately and comfortable with fresh flowers daily from the gardens. We stayed in one of the new rooms across from the main building below the clock tower which was very sumptuous under floor heating and a butlers pantry with complimentary snacks. Good buffet breakfast extra £22. Enjoyed an AF gin in the bar and bought a bottle from the shop, the toiletries are also available to buy with a 10% discount. I took a wild swim in the lake which is a new addition and the staff were very polite and obliging throughout our stay

Superb stay for my wife's birthday. The whole place is wow! It has an old-fashioned charm, but with very up-to-date facilities. Our room was incredible - huge with a lovely big bathroom and shower, very comfortable bed and huge windows with a lovely view. There was no noise from anywhere inside or outside of the hotel overnight which was great. Breakfast was excellent with a huge range on the buffet; we didn't actually order any cooked food. We also had a lovely afternoon tea. We did lots of lovely walks around the parkland, went wild swimming and spent 3 hours in the spa which was absolutely fantastic (the car park at the spa looked busy, but it felt quiet inside) - loved the indoor pool, natural pool and hydrotherapy pool as well as the steam rooms and saunas - there were also lots of areas to relax in and the changing rooms were immaculate. We had a drink in the Terrace Bar which was lovely - we just wish it had been warm enough to sit outside as it was a beautiful space. The staff are all lovely and very helpful. it was a bonus for us to have plenty of EV charging on site which was very easy to access and use.

We stayed 4 nights. Great facilities. Our room was spacious as was our bathroom. The latter being a real bonus. Loved the fact there was ice in our room without the need to ask. Both restaurants had very good & delicious food. The Terrace restaurant is highly recommended. We had dinner on our last night there & it was fabulous. Staff courteous at all times. The grounds were very calming & well kept. Definitely will return & will recommend to friends.

Rooms were stuffy and hot and difficult to aerate due to vines (insects) and housemartins nests (bird droppings). Couldn't get a scone in the afternoon as the kitchen was not able to cope. Would have expected a walk-in shower and not just a bath in this price category.

Beautiful building in a wonderful estate. Breakfast and dinner (at The Terrace) were very good. At reception, we were given a short tour of the premises with some history. Nice.
