Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

In general we are very happy, it is really beautiful outside, but very tired inside. I understand that the rooms where the dogs allowed are not renovated, but I was a bit shocked with a broken closet (where there no cover) and it wasn't clean.

I would say the coffee sachets in the room was a little off and didn’t taste quite right. Other than that we had an excellent experience and would most certainly stay here again!
I liked the location, the hotel, the cleanliness.

We went into the pool after our spa which was nice but then the children that showed up then took over the pool area. So then wasn't a relaxing space, so we left.

The cost of food and drinks were very expensive. I paid £12 for a large glass of wine and £5 for a bottle or water and would consider this priced very high.

Car park is away from reception and the first thing you see is a sign saying criminals and thieves operate on this area, there’s no cctv so if you have any valuables in your vehicle you’re in for a nervous night , personally I don’t think at £104 a night it’s good enough sorry . The mattress was also worn on my bed no charging sockets by the bed either . I stayed at Hollins Hall Shipley the night before all the same facilities better gym , much cheaper evening menu and my room was half the price of this hotel at £49 . The Restraunt staff were good and helpful .
The spa was good the food was good but personally I think too dear .The breakfast was exceptional so much choice .

The gorgeous beam above our bed needs a good dusting. A young server at breakfast was very miserable.
Breakfast selection very good. Hotel warm and cosy. Staff very friendly. Good location for visiting the surrounding area.

It was nice having a pool and spa facilities, but the pool is small (12m) and as it was a bank holiday it was pretty. overcrowded, with people booking spa treatments as well as hotel guests. People leaving paper cups from the water fountain about didn't add to the overall look of the place either. As it was muddy outside, and it was in the countryside a boot scraper or two would have been handy.
The staff were excellent and really helped make our stay enjoyable. They were friendly and helpful. We had a dog with. us and they say they are dog friendly. The dog was treated well with treats and a 'gift pack'. The food was fine - it was of a decent pub food standard not fine dining.

We were seated in the back room of the restaurant for our evening meal. The lighting was terrible and it was too dark. We did mention this to staff but nothing was done to rectify this.

Comfortable and cosy. Restaurant was being refurbished so had to have meals in large conference room which took the ambience away from dining on one night and two mornings. No hair dryer in room and reception didn't answer phone so had to go and find someone at 7am.
