Bathroom was slightly tired

Absolutely perfect location! Opposite the theatre and river and adjacent to New Place. 5 minutes walk into the Old Town one way or the ‘new’ town centre, going the other way. Staff are absolutely fantastic!! Super friendly and happy to help with anything. Food was perfect too - couldn’t have asked for anything more at breakfast and the pre theatre dinner was spot on too.

Location was perfect . Beautiful gardens . Staff were amazing . We had breakfast and the gluten free choices were plentiful! Even had a ‘happy birthday’ brownie platter in the room to welcome us - so a lovely touch .

I would have hoped for a better rate as single occupancy

I didn’t dine so can’t comment on that but room very comfortable and quiet and had everything I required. As a single guest I was happy and confident staying here and the staff were helpful and friendly. Best of all, so convenient for the theatre.

Oh nothing really, I was in my happy place.

The breakfast was perfect as was the location. I was on my own it feels so safe and comfortable. I had only booked for 1 night but decided to stay on for another and you were able to accommodate me - I didn't have to move rooms either 🙂

Wife’s scrambled eggs was stone cold and one of my poached eggs, didn’t affect our stay, just saying so it may help. Staff were fantastic. Thank you we had a great stay……and the bar man was really good, he’d shut up but still served a late night drink to take to our room

Decor was a little shady in a few places. Not a problem for me but there were a lot of stairs and no lift.

Location was ideal. Opposite RSC and easy walk to other attractions in the town. Staff were extremely attentive, kind and friendly.

This was our third visit in 16 months and the rooms and corridors are definitely looking a little tired. Could do with some refurbishing. Breakfast served on cold plates and not as ordered on the first morning but rectified on the second morning

Some of the staff were a bit cold- not all of them! But it was a bit off-putting. Also, quite a few things in the room needed updating. Old tv, lots of wonky or broken fixtures. I was sent a concierge form to fill in before the stay with preferences, I didn’t ask for much but it was completely ignored. I chose the option for ‘foam pillows’ rather than feather, and a duvet. I got neither! However a call to reception and I got my pillows.

They didn't respond to my messages via booking.com at all before I travelled even though I mentioned multiple times that the booking didn't reflect the fact that I was travelling with my toddler. They were surprised when I turned up and then said they'd missed all my messages.

The staff were exceptional - very helpful with my toddler and very professional. The room was very comfortable and clean with great amenities.

We already booked a meal elsewhere. We found the main dinner options a little limited. Maybe that’s just us..

Jack, the concierge took us to our room. He explained everything. The room was very spacious and comfortable. All staff were very friendly and helpful. A great Easter weekend.

Perhaps not ideal for less mobile as there were stairs about the hotel, although there was apparently an accessible room and there was a stairlift to the bistro

Located on the waterside, right opposite the RSC theatre and a quick walk into the centre. Car parking (chargeable) available at the back (NB access into car park is via one way lane). We stayed 2 nights over Easter weekend. We weren't happy with the 1st room we were showed to, so we swapped rooms and were much happier. Supper in No 44 Bistro was excellent, and breakfast was one of the best we have had in a hotel (lovely fruit platter, DIY museli and hot cooked was fabulous). Friendly staff. Lovely stay.
