How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It is important to advise parents to keep their children from running in the corridors to ensure the safety of everyone.
The location of the accommodation was fantastic, and our room was perfectly decorated with an extremely comfortable bed. Additionally, the view from our room was great. We enjoyed our stay, but unfortunately, we were next door to some children who kept opening and closing the doors, which led to loud banging on our wall and door. In addition to that, they were running in the corridor late at night, which was quite inconvenient for us since we had an early flight.

Slanted ceiling in the room meant I had to hunch.
The room was clean and it seemed like it had just had brand new carpets fitted. Nicely decorated, bed was very comfortable and we had a couple of great nights rest. Food at breakfast and dinner was delicious. Staff are very polite, welcoming and always happy to answer questions. Cannot fault the service.

We had Sunday dinner when we arrived which was pre-booked. Overall dinner was tasty, unfortunately roast potatoes tasted like re-heated chewy spuds. Same as our breakfast, everything was well cooked except for the bacon. It was dry and chewy surprising for streaky which is normally crispy.
Staff were friendly and professional. Room was clean, bright and comfortable.

My only concern was that the EV charging point was fitted at the front of the property which made it difficult to park safely close to the roadside.
The breakfast experience was perfect.

Returned from the city centre at 9.30pm with the plan of having a couple of drinks and a leisurely chat to be told by the person behind the bar, who appeared seriously miffed we had turned up, despite there being another 3 people already there, that he was calling last orders. Ordered a drink and half way through it at 10pm we were told he was locking the bar up and we should take our drinks to our rooms to finish them. Wouldn’t mind but the guest information pack in the room said the bar was open until 11pm 7 days a week.
Nice room, comfortable bed, very clean. Excellent breakfast. Most of the staff very pleasant and helpful. Quiet location but easy enough to get to Norwich city centre by taxi. (There is also a bus, 44A, which runs through the village between Aylsham and Norwich.

Family room is a really good size. The king size bed is incredibly comfortable and our son slept really well in the single. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The food in the restaurant was excellent - great choices for breakfast too. Lovely quiet location, within an easy drive of Norwich.

I had the smaller room in the premises, but then again maybe I'm cheap.
