nothing, only slight criticism bar was busy but staff always made room for us thanks again.

We took our elderly parents and we were all made to feel very welcome, enjoyed a meal in the pub and restaurant both nights the foods was exceptional all of the staff were very friendly. Great location close to the castle and excellent carpark space which was reassuring. Had a great time thank you all will definitely be returning.

    Everything was great.

Very good choice at breakfast including full Yorkshire, smoked salmon and scrambled egg on sourdough toast, waffles with cream and berries. We ate in the bar as we had a dog with us and enjoyed butternut squash soup, steak and ale pie and the fish pie. We walked around the beautiful village.

We loved everything about this hotel. The location is beautiful and unique. The accommodation is really clean and comfortable. The highlight though was the customer service especially in the restaurant. The food was great too. Nothing not to like!

A very well-managed hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Lovely clean, comfortable beds and a good shower. A varied menu, reasonably priced. We’ve stayed here several times - we enjoy walking and it’s well placed geographically.

A very minor point but it was very hot in the rooms. We turned off our radiator and this improved it but we still found that it was very hot in the communal areas such as the dining room. It did not take away from our enjoyment of the stay however.

Our stay was very relaxing, the decor is lovely and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. The food was definitely a highlight: we had an excellent dinner and the breakfast the next day was superb as well. Would really recommend for a quaint countryside escape.

    Having to leave!

Everything was just perfect. The staff were all so lovely and welcoming and good fun to chat to. The food was amazing. My husband is a beef farmer and I dread it when he orders steak - but he said it was the tastiest, best cook steak he has had in a very long time. So credit to the Chef! The receptionists were just lovely too. We just cant wait to come back and stay for a longer period of time and explore the area further. We just love Yorkshire - its our go to UK destination xx
