CHeap and cheerful, but perfectly OK. I would go back again.

It is a little old and run down now, but is perfectly usable and comfortable. I rather liked it as it's not a chain and has some character.

Everything worked and was comfortable and clean. Breakfast OK - not haute cuisine, but fresh and substantial, served with grace by the young wait staff. Regular 22 bus just along the road for getting in and out of town, although the downhill walk to town also very pleasant - about 10 minutes. Plenty of shops, cafes etc within 10 minutes walk, both downhill and uphill (try the Ilsham cafe uphill -fabulous). Comfy bed, functional shower. Fantastic value for money.

Everything worked, bed and room were comfy, 22 bus right outside to and from town (or 10 minute walk down to the harbour). Cheap. Nearby shops, cafes and restaurants all within 10 minute walk. Breakfast was hot and fresh. The rooms and hotel itself are know quite old but perfectly functional. Staff were all competent and friendly.

    nothing really for the price,

all was as i expected from a 2 star hotel , comfortable bed , hot water, and good breakfast, obviously in need of refurbishment thats why its 2 star, 22 bus runs outside up and down the hill handy for us bus passers ,about a 12 min walk to the harbour if not, yes i was happy enough and would return ,

Not much I didn't like. I like the traditional feel of the hotel however it is a little tired in places and could do with some TLC. But that costs money and things are tight but it was very good value for money.

My room was clean and functional and had everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was lovely and hot. The staff were excellent. Friendly and welcoming. There was a car park at the back which was useful. Breakfast was all waiter service and ideal for me as I was able to order exactly what I wanted. There was a bar and lounge and separate pool table room. There was also an entertainment area where acts would play in the height of the season. I was walking the South West Coast path and found the location and busses worked well for me. It was excellent value for money and I'd stay again.

A half an hour breakfast (especially at 8:30 which is quite early for a weekend) is a little silly. I missed breakfast both days despite being down before 9AM.

Very cheap, bed was clean, room was clean, location was ok (up a hill but not too bad)

The free WiFi didn't stretch as far as my room, but my own system compensated for that. Aside from that, I had no complaints.

The hotel is in a quite quiet location, but not close enough to the sea as far as walking to it is concerned. The breakfast was OK, but not exceptional - good for the money paid.

There are an awful lot of fire doors that were constantly being slammed shut as people moved up and down the corridors!

Had a very warm welcome at reception and breakfast was included in the price so it was a real bargain!

The hotel is quite shabby, but if you can close your eyes to that, it's fine. Breakfast choice was good, but there was no sugar for my cereal - I had to go in search for it and they only had demerara sugar. There were no teaspoons, so I had to eat my boiled egg with a dessert spoon. I would have liked salt and pepper pots on the table - those little sachets are uncontrollable (and surely cost more??). A little bit of jam or marmalade would have been nice to finish off my toast, but it seems that was a menu choice rather than a given, and I'd already selected boiled egg.

Room was fine - clean bedding and generally clean. Staff were cheerful and helpful. Great price.

    No issues

We loved our stay, the hotel has made a big effort to go festive and this really cheers people up I think. The room had everything you need, hairdryer, kettle warm bedding, coffee n the room wasn't good but this doesn't bother me. I think the heating came on and off at perfect times this prevented the room from getting too warm. The staff were friendly and helpful and an added bonus was entertainment in the evening which were a bit of fun and banter with people from a coach trip. All good breakfast were fine, waiting staff friendly. the coffee was tasty .
