We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomThe flush of our toilet was weak and brought more anxiety (and water) than necessary to wave goodbye to humble deposits. My partner is also asking me to write a note about her pudding. She’s an apple crumble expert. She got confused by the floury texture of her crumble and its temperature: cold at the front and hot at the back. Maybe no pudding would have been good enough to follow the main meal she enjoyed so much.
On arrival, we found free almond biscuits in a small glass jar. With that, we sat on the sofa in our spacious bedroom. We took a moment to appreciate its beams and serenity. From there, we counted three rows of pillows on our king size bed. Three rows of pillows and a bolster. Imagine that.

United KingdomHad a room above the toilets where the hand drier went off constantly while pub open. (room 1). Heater switched off at night as the led light was so bright it lit the whole room.
Comfy bed and very clean throughout. Food was fantastic and very dog friendly. Would definitely stay again. Very quiet for a pub stay over. The room was small but cosy.

United KingdomThe original room I was in had a bathroom heater that heated up the room to much. Too hot for me. I couldn’t sleep. Opened windows but then the draft made the room door pull in and out of the door frame. I eventually got 4 hours sleep because I was too awake. However, on mentioning this at breakfast, I was offered a different room and help to move my bags. I was put in the higher room category for no extra charge. Lovely room and 8 hours sleep straight in a beautifully comfy bed. (They had got the engineer out the next day for the first room issue.) The only other thing was that the original Standard double I was in didn’t have a chair at the dressing table. I had imagined doing work but coupled with this and no wifi code (had to log in over an unsecured network) I didn’t open my laptop. (I didn’t get round to telling the staff about the chair though. I’m sure they would have sorted it given how helpful they were with the room change.)
The recent refurb: modern & stylish yet cosy decor. Rear entrance to rooms available direct to car park. Large car park. Bathroom in the standard double I was in was large with both shower and deep set bath. Walk in shower in second room I was in (see below) was large too. Comfy beds. Great full breakfast, including excellently fried eggs. Meal in pub restaurant both eves was delicious. Friendly and attentive staff. Relaxing stay. Would stay again.

We loved everything! The location, the rooms - comfy beds, brilliant shower, the food, the staff - we were all made to feel immediately at home. Breakfast and dinner were amazing - really delicious, plentiful and we were all able to sit together. We were celebrating my mum's birthday and she too was made to feel very special. Thank you to all the staff at the Carpenter's Arms for making our weekend so incredible!!!

United KingdomOther guests doors bang so loud the room shakes. We were next to the outdoor metal stairs and that was so noisy every time someone came in that door it rattled our door. So was very disturbed in the morning with that and doors banging. Wouldn’t put me off coming again.

Room warm, bed very comfortable. Food quality first class, well presented and good value for money. Staff friendly, helpful and efficient, so much so that with only a few staff apprarently on duty with a pretty full restaurant, the serrvice still managed to be prompt and engaging. Beer well kept. Easy parking. Room quiet despite being road facing. Nice outside (heated) patio. Highly recommended. We will undoubtedly return.
