Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was no hot food available at that time but the Continental breakfast was good. It would have been nice to get dinner at the hotel. We were not advised by Booking. Com that hot food wasn't available at that time!
The view from the hotel overlooking the Loch. It was very peaceful when we were there. Susan was lovely advising on where to go for walks etc.

United KingdomHow could you not love a place where you're greeted at reception by a black Lab named Finn? A harbinger of things to come, this lovely hotel was all we wanted and more. The highlight, of course, is the stunning view over Loch Earn -- no matter what the weather, it's a gorgeous sight to behold -- but the hospitality is splendid and the room comfortable and spacious. Owner and hands-on manager, Sue, is another highlight as she's warm and welcoming, informed about the region and very selective with her selection of Scotch whiskeys behind the bar, of which we indulged every evening. As other reviewers have mentioned, the Four Seasons shows signs of age in its facilities but none that detract from the remote beauty, warm welcome, and comfortable lodging in this special spot.

United KingdomThe room was a bit cold. It would have been nice to have the option of a warmer light for the bedside as white was a bit harsh. Common spaces can use some room fragrance.
The lake view from the room was spectacular- enjoying the sunset and sunrise in the comfort of your bed was amazing. The bed was comfy, and it was nice to have a kettle, and a coffee machine. Good value for money.

United KingdomThe room was quite chilly and the hot water was a-bit temperamental.
The lady who owns/runs the property was extremely welcoming to me and my 3 year old, she made sure we were comfortable, and had everything we needed she went above and beyond for us.

United KingdomNothing.
Fantastic location, right on a Loch, with its own beach. Woodland walks behind property. Direction given at reception..Lovely large room with en-suite bathroom. Old fashioned hotel attitude, so super dog friendly. Dogs treated as guests themselves not as an addition to me. Water bowls throughout hotel, even go towels on the radiator in lobby so you can dry your dogs if they have a paddle or swim in the loch…my two did exactly that..

United KingdomThe 5pm check-in time is far too late in the day. For anyone visiting during the middle of winter when it will be dark at that time, they'll not be able to take advantage of the surrounding views, which is the main highlight.
View of the loch from the hotel was fantastic and the owner was very friendly. Room was spacious and clean.

United KingdomMy only negative was that the room was cold, the heating was on a timer and you couldn’t turn it on yourself
The hotel was in a beautiful location. The rooms were lovely and big and we had a fridge in the bedroom which was great. The food was lovely and we loved the bar with the cosy open fire. Staff were very friendly. The hotel updated its Wi-Fi to improve the internet which was great.

United KingdomAlthough the room had the usual TV, tea/coffee facilities it felt a little bare and would benefit from a bit of updating. The building is quite old and we found the room quite cold and drafty at times due to the older windows. The large radiator in the room came on and went off again before the room had a chance to warm up. The bathroom was very big with a large drafty window. Although the radiator was on in there it made little or no difference.
Fantastic location at a reasonable price. Food was excellent. Allowed us to book in early.

United KingdomNo WiFi in the chalets, plus there's no phone signal, so that was pretty unacceptable, a total dead zone. The booking also didn't include breakfast, which we should have checked, but seemed a bit tight, considering the cost of the chalet. Paying an extra £45 for 3 breakfasts (Inc one child) is a bit much after paying £167 for the chalet. Another couple got a chalet for £140 including breakfast (no child), so I'm not sure how that adds up.
Staff were great. Especially considering that they were over run due to floods. Accommodation was clean and pleasant. Food was v good quality, but portion was too small for me. Nice bar

United KingdomFood at the restaurant was not good. We thought we'd treat ourselves to a meal there and we were thoroughly disappointed. One meal came out cold, the other was burned. Meals were redone and were still not particularly good, especially for the cost of them. We only got a couple of pounds per meal knocked off for the hassle, definitely not fair in our eyes when the husband could only eat the chips and left the burger.
Accommodation itself was fine. We stayed in one of the chalets and whilst they are a little dated, they served us perfectly well. Large comfy bed, clean enough, and we particularly liked that they were quite private. Location is great, and a beautiful view from them too.
