I found the sign saying you must hand your keys in when you leave the hotel for a sustained period of time very strange but followed the rules as suggested. Once into my room I find the floor was not clean at all. It was thought he room hadn’t been used for a while. Went and used the loo to find the toilet didn’t flush properly. It was till later I discovered the leaver was fully in the basin so you had to push it in then flush. The shower head had little to no pressure so barely got any water running from it. Lastly there was no remote control for the to so had to keep getting up to change the channel or turn the volume up I’m glad I didn’t pay too much money for the room or had stayed more than one night as otherwise or I’d have complained. A very old and run down hotel which is in much need of some TLC.

Comfy bed a three pillows. Once I got the radiator working then the room was warm.

Corridor complete mess something all over the floor. Room wasn't same as advertised on the site. No hairdryer which was advertised no telephone in room. No simple things such as cups or mugs or tea and coffee so I had to go to reception for this. Receptionist gave to me only was on her mobile phone at the same time very unprofessional. We found another previous guests top hanging on bathroom door which shows cleaning is pretty much non existent. Stains on chair on the room. The TV remotes didn't work yes that's remotes there were two in the room only non of which worked so we had to keep getting up to change the channel I had been down to reception again prior to tell the issue but again she was on the phone to her friend. To be honest I don't think she cared.the light above mirror in bathroom didn't work. The scurting board was held on by tape. For £54 it was a discrace. Room 215 don't stay in that room. 🤮

The heating was on constant and the bed was pretty comfortable slept pretty well

I booked last minute and I opted for 3 star hotel, thinking it was a safe bet. The property was once quite grand, but she's fallen on hard times and needs significant investment to bring her to a decent, acceptable, modern day standard. The door locks weren't properly fitted, which did make me a little uncomfortable. I called a taxi the following morning and the driver admonished me for staying there, in his words, it was known locally for sheltering the homeless. I do think that the current 3 star rating does need review.

The sheets were fresh, clean and crisply ironed. The central heating was running and the radiators were very warm. The en-suite bathroom was dated, but well appointed with both a bath and a shower, the towels were fresh, clean and there were plenty of them.

The beds, tv was far too small for the room size. Not all the lights worked. Plus got an electric shock from one of the bed side light switches.

It wasn’t clean, rubbish all over the carpets on the hallways, bathroom was missing the mixer lever to switch from shower head to bath, no shower curtain or screen so had to sit in the bath and run shower head over me. No remote for tv. It’s very dated and upon speaking to some of the locals the clientele who use the hotel aren’t the best. The bed was shockingly uncomfortable with springs digging into you. Shame really as the building is very nice on outside it needs some major investment to bring it up to a minimum average standard

Place is still falling to pieces, cost was far too high for such a sh*thole, and it's still full of Council funded junkies. Yet again whilst having a smoke outside, a "patron" irritated me so much that I was a hairbreadth away from ripping his effing face off but restrained myself. It's about time the George reverted to the superb hotel, best in Stoke-on-Trent, that it was when we held a posh wake after my coal miner Uncle Jack's funeral at St Saviour's 30 odd yrs ago. It has now changed into such an awful place that the wallpaper from 30 yrs back is now held up by blu-tack and drawing pins, the top class restaurant, kitchens and bar now closed. At least its the closest doss house to Vale Park. GET THOSE INSULTING PRICES LOWERED AND FFS MAKE IT CLEANER, REDECORATED AND MORE PLEASANT. Also I would love to see THAT woman disciplined for her attitude, which is not what one expects from my Mother Town of Burslem.

The building was very run down to the point wallpaper was falling off the walls. The room was very outdated, and I am not sure the bedroom door was locked, so I didn't feel completely safe. The tv remotes did not work. No-one on the desk when I checked out.

The bedding, bathroom was.clean. Had plenty of hot water.

the paper was peeling off the walls on the stairs due to water getting in from the windows above, didn't read the reviews but, my wife did after we checked in and she didn't like what she read, not an ideal place for a family but, it served it's purpose for a late booking

The corridors were filthy, bed was like sleeping on the springs, and staff were ok but I felt a bit like an inconvenience. The place was all locked up when I got there. And generally smelt of smoke. Won’t be going back.

I didn’t feel safe at all, it’s very rundown and outdated. Staff were lovely, but I had to tell the receptionist my room number to get my key back whilst a random guy drinking Stella was leaning over the desk. The locks on the doors were very sketchy, and there was just a weird vibe from the place.

It was close by to my activity, and the bathroom was spacious.

the smell of the entrance and hallway the rough carpets and broken floors i know its way old but somethings could be improved and specially some good hoverings around . The coffee mug and the tea spoon in the room was way to dirty wasn’t able to use it for a coffee but glad it was plastic disposable one there was no tv remote in the room and the shower floors definitely wasn’t cleaned

i like the style of the hotel but its need a lot of work to improve it
