The hosts, Pauline and Bill, are fantastic. Very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing, set us up for long days of walking. Great car park and a nice pub over the road for lunch and evening meals.

Lovely B and B in a quiet spot. Room was clean and comfy. Lovely to have a settee. Nothing was too much trouble for Pauline the landlady. Breakfast was great. Trains, buses and a pub a few minutes walk away.

Pauline and Bill's guest house is wonderful! Our room was quiet and clean and overlooking a serene little bit of forest. The room was a spacious suite which had a comfortable sofa separate to the bed. Breakfast was warmly cooked for us by Pauline and it was delicious, with fine local pork. We highly recommend this charming little guest house!

Absolutely brilliant hotel and owners. Food was amazing. Beautiful room and dining room. Close to the railway station, plenty of parking. Close to the pub for evening food. We updated to a larger room down stairs because of the dogs and we were able to use the back door, worked brillantly. Breakfast was very good, every where very clean, could not fault anything.

Spacious room, well decorated, very comfortable bed. Hosts have their system for everything - little sheets to fill out if you want more tea or coffee left in your room, prebooking breakfast etc... so it makes everything run smoothly. Bath and hot water were glorious after a long days hiking. Even a fridge in the dining room for walkers to put their lunch in for the next day - very useful. Pub is 2 mins walk up the road and service excellent food. Lots of parking.

Room is big enough for one, but with two people you could easily get in each others way.

Very friendly and accommodating hosts, excellent breakfast. Room has everything you need. Big towels in the bathroom. Short walk from a nice pub that has good food. The area is beautiful, whether you go exploring the Lakes or the Dales. It’s a good base for both.
