How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Staff were so polite and accommodating, I had queried whether they had any special arrangements for birthdays but hadn’t heard back (last minute booking), when my partner and I arrived at the room we were greeted with a special birthday platter of miniature cakes

Room was a little tight for a couple. Not enough plugs for two people. No HDMI access to the TV in the room. Could do with better lighting.

Lighting very poor in rooms and bathroom needs to be brighter in bathroom for make up and hair as mirror light didn’t work also t.v needs to be installed a bit better as it over hangs where wardrobe is and I turned around and walked straight into the corner and nearly ripped it off the wall.

I would have liked a double bed and there were no curtains on bathroom windows flooded the whole room with light as there is a glass door to the bathroom

Viewing deck was advertised, however, it was closed and only accessible with a member of staff available to stay with you while up there (I under why but also felt that if there are 2/3 people supervision wouldn’t be necessary)… Couldn’t figure out how to open the windows… it wasn’t clear if we could just sit in the bar and chat without purchasing anything (when it was quiet)…
It was boujee… Staff were friendly and helpful… Later checkout than expected so able to have a lay in etc… It was clean and well kept…

Toilet flush broke on second use, repaired by desk clerk. Same problem occurred again next morning. Should have been repaired by a plumber or our room changed, instead a quick fix. Not happy with the lack of privacy in the bathroom, opaque glass doors. Probably would deter us from staying again.
Clean, comfortable room. My husband had a slight accident.The female desk clerk was very kind and helpful, when made aware of it.

There was a disturbance during the early hours of our first morning by neighbouring guests. Lots of shouting and loud confrontation.
I like the decoration and furnishings throughout the hotel. The breakfast had a lot to choose from.

The wet room didn't suit. The whole bathroom floor got wet even if the non disabled person had a shower. Handrails not positioned appropriately. Very slippery marble floor. Would have preferred a 'low rise' shower with a door but obviously a wheelchair user could not use this. Had to use towels to dry floor. Staff very good at replacing soaking towels.
Location suitable for visiting family & handy for LCY Airport. Lovely view overlooking Vilage Square,Catherine Grove. Room clean & roomy. Staff VERY friendly,courteous. Asked for disabled chair & bathmats & delivered immediately. Staff very smiley & attentive.

The tuna sandwich we ordered from room service at 00.30 could of been better, It wasn’t quite what we expected after reading menu.
Stayed here before, great location for where we needed to be (O2) Friendly efficient staff, nothing was too much trouble. One of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in!
