Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I was unable to have one of their accessible rooms as they were already booked.
The room had everything that was required and the car park is a welcome and free bonus! The food is good and good value too. Considering my room was above a pub it was remarkably quiet. I could open the window and not have to rely on air con!

Very creaky floor and bed, so felt a little embarrassed when simply turning over ! The hot & cold tap on the sink was opposite to what I’m used to (the hot was on the right) The food in the restaurant wasn’t great We both had steak & Ale Pie with mash and seasonal veg, I had lots of gristle in my pie ( partners was fine) The gravy plopped out of the jug in a lump, turned out to still be FROZEN! how hard is it to boil the kettle and make gravy! As it certainly wasn’t nice enough to have been homemade in a large batch and frozen
The room was very clean The shower was excellent with lots of hot water The bed was comfortable but a bit too firm for our personal taste, extra pillows in the wardrobe if needed :) Large bathroom Complimentary tea & coffee Free Parking if register your registration

Wasn´t happy with so many dogs in the bar Sunday lunch time.
Very cozy, well decorated room with a very comfy bed. Excellent shower and plenty of hot water. Lovely traditional pub with a nice atmosphere.

The only downsides: The layout in the bathroom as a bit cramped leading to a need to sit sideways on the toilet to avoid burning knees on the radiator. On arrival and on check out, staff took quite a while to respond. The pub bit of the hotel was busy in the evening but not in the morning. Otherwise it would have got 10/10.
The room was really spacious and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped with a very good shower. Nice to have a bath too, although we didn't use this! The room was very quiet so the soundproofing must have been excellent as the pub was very busy. It was a real bonus to be able to charge our EV in the car park. It's an Evyve rapid charger (up to 50KW) and charged our Kia e-Niro from 25% to 90% in an hour. 79p/KWh. I don't think it had a Chadamo... just CCS-2

I was left standing at check in for over 10 mins (yes I rang the bell) whilst staff members who have obviously finished shift sat and watched me and completely ignored me. This was at 4pm in the evening. All it would have taken was a simple acknowledgement! When I approached the young bar man ( who was struggling to serve 2 customers) he told me to ring the bell, despite the fact he could also clearly see me standing at the reception ringing the bell. Some waitressing/bar staff are lovely others are simply rude!!

Shower in the room needs some TLC. The fire doors bang closed ,I think because the dampers are set incorrectly,So any footfall during the night was noticed Aircon control panel light was casting a beam across the room.
We had some special issues to be accommodated but all of them were overcome by the staff. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.

Very loud music on the Saturday night till gone midnight when I had to get up early Sunday.Also staff seemed a bit reluctant to give me a table Saturday night in the restaurant

Everything was ok
Bedroom was quite spacious but a little on the chilly side even after adjusting the air con. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Good choice on the dinner menu. Hot water for breakfast tea ran out.

I could not work out how to use the ceiling extractor fan in the bathroom. Over-length shower curtains may help reduce the water over the floor.
The welcoming staff when I booked in. The atmosphere in the building. The room was quiet, even though it was so close to the bar. The bed was comfy. The room was well fitted.
