Wi-Fi was dodgy. There were two connections available to me but neither would work properly, and phone signal in the room was shaky depending on location (which wouldn’t have been a problem in the room if Wi-Fi was working).

The bathroom facilities were fantastic and the room was well insulated to keep the warm in. Was also very aesthetically pleasant to stay in.

Rooms were extremely warm and a little dusty by the beams with a few lights/sockets not working but nothing too major at all.

Beautiful courtyard and buildings, staff were mostly very friendly and accommodating. Rooms done traditionally, and the dinner/breakfast was great. Would definitely stay again.

It's such a pretty inn. Breakfast was good, the building is so old but the bathroom is clean and new. The inside looks a bit like a maze but we stayed here for a wedding and it was a pleasant stay.

I missed some tourist information at the reception or in my room. One vegan meal was very poor but it was a nice gesture that this meal was not included in the bill.

I felt in an era which lays far beyond us: the old Engl;and atmosphere in the room and corridors.

    Nothing.

I travelled down from Newcastle to Leicester by train to attend a funeral. The church was 200yds from the hotel and the wake a further 200yds away, making the hotel an ideal location. Fortunately I was picked up from the station and taken to the hotel which took 45 mins due to heavy traffic. For my return journey, I had planned to take a taxi back to the station the following morning and was somewhat concerned about the commuter traffic so I asked the reception to book me a reliable taxi. The staff were brilliant and trawled the list of taxis and finally were able to book one for me. The next day when I went down for breakfast I asked them to bring it forward by 15 mins if possible. The taxi arrived early and it proved to be a good decision as it took 50 mins mainly because the taxi was allowed to travel in the bus lanes, if not I would have missed my train. Leicester has a major traffic problem. I am most grateful to the reception staff for all their endeavours to get me to the station on time. It was a short stay but I enjoyed the hotel and the excellent breakfast. Thank you.
