The amount of stairs to our room

Staff were excellent, restaurant was lovely and bar area the only down side to hotel was all the stairs to our room

Glass door to en-suite in front of toilet was a very unpleasant design feature. Only place to put bath towels was the floor. Overcrowded bedroom due to large wardrobe, two chests of drawers and a dressing table (at which you couldn’t sit!) meant no room to move. No bedside tables and poor lighting. Lumpy mattress and pillows.

Restaurant and staff excellent. Good location for stopover off M6. Bathroom fittings modern and clean.

The room I was in had a noisy bed, wet carpet outside the tiny shower room, spongy wet floor in the shower room and the shower tray almost filled up and overflowed!

Peeling paint in bathroom, bed creaked every time your turned and the door to bathroom was difficult to open.

Room!Had difficulty opening bathroom door as it was too tight against carpet .Outside light kept coming on by bedroom window so had a poor sleep.Very noises extractor fan(?)kept coming on again keeping us awake.

I had a very squeaky bed which was a bit off putting during the night and the stairs were very steep I found but they do inform you on the website of that

The room had the squeakiest bed I have ever slept in.

The bedroom was clean, lovely bathroom, dinner in the comfortable bar, pleasant staff, poached eggs on toast for breakfast.

Only instant coffee for breakfast. The metal beds were noisy every time we turned over. No staff on duty overnight was slightly discomforting. Wifi was intermittent and slow, little mobile signal inside.

The food was excellent. The room was warm and comfortable with a view over the front. The dining area and bar are nice.

Shower needed a facelift

I stayed on a single bed and every time I moved it squeaked. Shame on me I forgot to mention it as we checked out though so they’re probably still not aware of it. Very steep stairs if you have a lot of heavy luggage or mobility problems be careful.

Very quirky. Right in the centre of the village. Handy shops nearby. Was near where we needed to be. Was clean and accommodation was very nice. Super breakfast was included too.

No car parking, bookings.com advertised the hotel with car parking. Having said that I parked on the road outside the hotel which was fine as only a small village. There is a public car park at the back of the hotel but I preferred the road at the front. Wi-fi and phone signal were pretty poor, however I was in a room at the back of the hotel which may have made a difference.

Lovely pub / restaurant, food was excellent. Unfortunately couldn't stay for breakfast as I had to be away early. Room was clean and staff were very friendly.

It has an unmanned reception which was odd, the floor in the room we had sloped to the extent some of the draws in the dressing table would not stay shut. The room door was amazing.

For a grade 2 listed building it’s was nice if a little strange.

The glazed glass door of the bathroom wasn't very private

The breakfast was fab and so was the evening meal. Bed was also very comfy.

Very noisy due to proximity to road and old windows. Something was load and shaking the room all evening
