Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHonestly, we stay away extensively and thought this place was slightly overpriced by £10-£15 a night to that of comparable stays elsewhere in Staffordshire and beyond.
Our room, bar area and restaurant were spotless. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable, a little warm but easily resolved by opening a window. Loved the ambiance of the place. We stayed Saturday and Sunday and, even though the place is so very busy almost all of the time, we never felt uncomfortable and found somewhere to sit whenever we wanted to be downstairs. We didn’t have a meal here but spoke to a cpl of people who did, they all said how beautiful the food was (especially the lamb on Sunday it seemed!). We didn’t experience any noise whatsoever over night. Slept very well. The staff are fantastic, many are very young and have the most lovely attitude and customer focus. I would be interested in how far they all walk each working shift, they never seemed to stand still! Very attentive, smiley and polite. Thank you very much.

United KingdomPerhaps I should have researched more carefully, but I was disappointed that the hotel stopped serving meals at 6.00pm on a Sunday. The menus looked excellent and I was looking forward to dining there. The website suggested a bit of a country house vibe, but the room was a bit tired and the hot water situation was not ideal. I never managed to get hot water in the wash hand basin. The shower took ages to heat up. The room was noisy because of traffic on the road outside even with the double glazing closed. There was no cooked breakfast which I should have picked up on. All that said, the staff really compensated and overall I quite enjoyed the stay. The bar was welcoming with a good range of drinks and the place had the potential, with a little more effort, to be excellent
The staff in the hotel were all lovely. They were courteous, friendly and very helpful. The location was great for me

United KingdomRoom smelt like the previous guest had been smoking in there. When I opened the window, the smell of fried food from the kitchen invaded! The yale lock on the door was loose too, so had to be very careful locking and un-locking the door.
Very friendly staff. Great location. Small single room, but had a double bed. Well furnished with some really nice decorative touches. Felt comfortable and not at all cramped.

United KingdomMy room was next to the plant room, and I could hear plant kicking in and out/vibrations etc., however it went quiet around 10pm so I had a really good night's sleep. I like to have a bacon butty in the morning when I'm travelling with work, so a cooked breakfast would have been my preference. However, I really enjoyed my stay, and the team were really friendly and helpful!! I'll definitely come back to the Littleton Arms.
Evening meal was excellent, and good value for money. Radiators in the room which could be adjusted easily to suit my requirements. Bed was really comfy, room on the whole was very good.

United KingdomRoom 3 smells of grease and has noise from generator as below the kitchen. Couldn’t open the window to freshen the smell until kitchen had closed and had to shut early in the morning due to hum of generator. Not all rooms have this issue but worth checking. Otherwise, very comfortable bed and large room.
Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Food and drink always excellent here. Breakfast was no exception.

United KingdomWe stayed in a superior twin bedded room but unfortunately the water in the shower was not very warm. We had been hiking all day and had also got wet and would have welcomed a hot shower. A member of staff tried to fix the problem but the water was not even lukewarm the next am. This spoilt out stay. The television in the room had Beverly poor reception but we were told this was due to the poor weather….windy and wet.
Very pleasant pub and very central. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.

United KingdomOnly issue was the noisy fan outside our room. Fortunately it was switched off around 11 but came on at 6.30. There is double glazing which reduced the sound but that means no window open. Maybe worth asking for a room away from the fan. Would still recommend the place as everything else was excellent
Really great staff, they were very helpful welcoming and friendly. It was a huge room well furnished and equipped. Vegan options and food was very good evening and breakfast. . Lovely big towels and bed very comfortable.

United KingdomNot much, the rooms could be a little cooler. I would say have a better location for reception desk so that space could be used tables, it is very low on space.
The food is great, and the staff are fantastic, This was my birthday trip I went back to the Littleton arm as I regular stayed there for work and the food and rooms where good. I wanted to see if their offering had gone down since Covid, it had not if anything was better.

United KingdomOur room was very hot and the windows didn’t open. There was a fan available to us which helped somewhat.
Breakfast choice was amazing. Lady serving us was friendly and efficient, even managing to get water for our dog and other dogs while dealing with numerous breakfast orders. Food was excellent too. We also had evening meal which again was excellent quality.

United KingdomThe extractor fan / aircon unit at the back of the kitchen was quite loud even with the windows closed, although it was shut down at around 10pm. The room is very warm (as is the whole building) but electric fans are supplied in the rooms.
The Littleton Arms is a very vibrant and busy venue, the food selection is very good and so is the beer. The restaurant becomes very busy in the evenings as it is very popular locally. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomVery very loud extractor fan outside our room meant we had to close the window, but then had to open it again as it was v hot and stuffy (and it wasn’t particularly hot weather for the time of year) My partner’s dinner was not great (loaded fries, quite dry and not hot) but ok. Continental breakfast was a shame as we thought it was cooked breakfast (probably our mistake though). It was ok for a continental breakfast but not a brilliant selection. Seems a shame not to serve any cooked breakfast options in a place with a proper restaurant/kitchen.
Handy location for a stopover on a long trip. Nice busy atmosphere in the pub, and friendly staff. Decent shower (although anyone remotely tall wouldn’t be able to stand up in it!). Nice to also have a bath. Cute decor in room and throughout. My dinner was really tasty (squid ink tagliatelle)
