눉-The water in the shower was not very hot at all during our stay which was disappointing. -At times when calling the reception from the room took nearly 4 minutes for someone to answer (it was quicker to walk down and find someone!) -Our double bed was in fact two singles however you didn't notice this while sleeping.
눇-Attentive staff in the bar area and restaurant. -The food was lovely with great attention to detail, yet a little overpriced considering it is the only place to eat in the village. -Spacious and comfortable hotel room will all amenities covered. -Lovely touch of a welcome treat (Fudge from a local sweet shop in Mevagissy). -Good wifi.

눉On our first night (Saturday), after a long drive down from Oxford and a blustery/cold walk on the beach, we returned to our room to get ready for dinner, only to find that we were destined to have a cold shower each (not ideal in February!). We called down to reception, who said that the lack of hot water was probably as a result of the fact that it was peak time for everybody trying to get hot water in order to get ready for dinner etc (surely this shouldn't be a problem...you're a hotel, you need to make sure that ALL of your guests get hot water as and when needed?!). We were advised to try again in 20 minutes - we did, and the water was still cold (icy cold by this point). We then went down for dinner and by the time we got back to our room later on that evening, the water was still only luke warm (marginally better than earlier admittedly-but not enough that you would want to shower in it still!). We called down to reception again, and was advised that an engineer had been on site and rectified the problem (something to do with the boiler) so we should be back with hot water in about 15 minutes or so - we were, and all was fine thereafter. Whilst the staff dealt with this problem very well, on our check out yesterday, we were slightly disappointed that no apology was made nor any concession (i.e. our bottle of wine from dinner on Saturday or something like that) offered as a result of the inconvenience that we experienced.
눇We were really impressed by the boutique style of the hotel...my other half was particularly pleased with the Playstation and supply of fudge in the room! Whilst some people may say that the dinner options in the restaurant are "limited", we didn't find this to be a problem during our two night stay - there was steak, there was sausages and mash, burgers - all piping hot, and tasting delicious. The location was exactly what we were after for this particular break, but now we've done The Lost Gardens of Heligan (beautiful by the way!) and The Eden Project (not worth the money and certainly won't be returning any time soon!) - which are on the doorstep of The Llawnroc, one could say that the hotel is a little bit too "out of the way". Some people might not mind that, but we would say that people shouldn't go to this particular area and expect it to be a hive of activity. I'm sure it'll come to life a bit more once the Spring/Summer season is underway, but it is very remote (lovely though!)!
