Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United KingdomThe instructions for accessing the apartment were a little hazy to say the least - it isn't clear from the directions which is the front and which is the back of the mill and there is no sign at the entrance to the drive which leads to the jetty cottages and main parking area for the apartments, the side with the lock box. Worst of all, when we couldn't find a key or a lock box code to the jetty cottage (birdwatching hut), we tried the contact number for the housekeeper. After no response and several calls to holiday cottages.com the following day, it turned out she hadn't worked there for 7 years!! The agency finally got hold of the owner who sent someone with a key on the 3rd day of our stay, so we got 2 hours in the fabulous bayside hut before it got dark. Given that this was one of the main reasons for booking this location, this was a huge disappointment.
The apartment itself is spacious and well equipped. The front windows and one bedroom look right onto Budle Bay, which fills and empties with the tide, attracting lots of birds.

United KingdomReally great stay that would have been made perfect with just a few additional touches that other apartments have. Communications weren't great as no explanation on what all the keys were for, which jetty cottage was ours, what to do with rubbish or what to do at check out. All it needs is a welcome sheet or something explaining all this would easily fix this. To help anyone staying in future with entry. The instructions are if you park at the back of the property. The key box is the one without a number on which is the first code and then the last code is the one that gets you into the property - make sure the bottom lock is open before you use the code.
Location was excellent and a good base for adventures. Apartment was large with three big bedrooms. Jetty cottage was a nice addition and the children loved playing in here and watching the wildlife in the warm.

United KingdomI found all apartment and outer doors impossible to open with keys , my husband managed with a struggle. Your description led us to believe we could access the beach from the grounds but this was not the case and we had to drive to access walks as the road was too narrow, winding and fast to risk a walk on.

United KingdomThe mattresses in 2 bedrooms were very uncomfortable. The support had gone completely. There were no mattresses protectors. Only a few pillows had protectors and were stained. The tv did not give access to many channels. The toilet seat was badly stained and wouldn’t stay upright. The sofas were very uncomfortable. The water system only held enough water for one bath and one shower. A combi boiler would have been better when the apartment provided for 5 adult guests. Looking at the guest book numerous previous guests had complained about some of the above and other things that had obviously been ignored.
The property was a very short drive to Bamburgh village, easy to find with parking.

United Kingdomthe colleting keys and opening doors was too difficult ( other similar comments about this were in the comments book in the property) there was a lot of dust inside ( blinds slats, over picture frames, cob webs, etc). the carpet was stained too. The property was very cold on arrival and no instructions on how to operate the heating. Not even a pint of Milk or tea bags to warm the arrival.
