Comfortable stay during the Shakespeare Marathon Weekend
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Deluxe Double Room
    • Stayed 1 night

Bed mattresses for the double bed and the sofa bed were not very comfortable but still ok for a one night stay.

Room size was suitable for our family. Location and car park availability was good as well. The Inn also accomodated our request for late check-out well in advance. Access to Stratford-upon-Avon via train was useful.

Good location close to Stratford, free car park. The staff was very kind and helpful. We had a big room overlooking Mary Arden's farm. Nothing fancy but comfy and clean.

The wee village has one shop that closes early. I had no problems with the Mary Arden.

Nice place, friendly staff, friendly people in the bar too.

It was a bit grotty, spiders in the bathroom, the bed was springy and the kettle had limescale. The beer was all exported and expensive.

The female staff were friendly enough

That booking.com had messed up the booking and our deluxe room wasn’t available.

Property great , rooms named by Shakespeare plays. Friendly pub and staff. No food available at the time due to staffing. Staff brilliant though

Lovely spot, pub downstairs which I was worried would be noisy but wasn’t too bad and I got to sleep easily. Friendly staff checked me in.

no one was around when we checked out so that was odd. It's quite a way from the attractions and the uber's were starting to add up. They do not have food available. All in all, it was a lovely 2 nights.

The pub was very convenient and quite nice. The room was lovely with a great view of the green. The staff very friendly.

The location might not suit those people without a car. There are no restaurants/cafes nearby, so to get something to eat you will need to get on a train or go by car. Also, we asked for a breakfast the day before the leave and agreed on the time with staff, however, the staff the next morning was all asleep (or busy) because they might have simply forgot about our breakfast order. It did not make much trouble for us, we just left and continued our journey.

The property itself looks very nice and comfortable. Downstairs there is a pub and anyone can get a drink. At the same time, the pub noise does not reach the rooms we were staying in. So it was very peaceful.

We had the twin room very basic and it was a little tired. Toilet seat and bathroom in general could do with a little tlc.Rather noisy due to what sounded like a pump of some sort going on and off through the night. The beds are very basic and hard not comfortable.

Friendly staff in lovely surroundings. Toiletries towels hairdryer all supplied.

The breakfast was a rip off I'm afraid to say. £7.50 per person for absolute bugger all. There was a loaf of bread, some pastries that have been left out all night. We were promised bacon sandwiches but there wasn't a single person there to ask. The room was a mess I wouldn't want to eat in there. I would really like my money back for the breakfast as we didn't have anything. Absolute rip off.

The room was lovely and they left us a bottle of prosecco

Really charming 18th century inn with plenty of character in a beautiful Warwickshire village. I stayed in the pretty Cymbeline room overlooking the village green. Friendly staff.

Nothing really, perhaps the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner but a minor point given the excellent value.

we arranged to have breakfast on the first morning but nobody was around. Luckily we had our own milk and we found some cereal. the second morning the same thing happened and the bowls we used the day before were still on the table and the empty milk container! The bed was very soft so I slept on the floor the second night. I appreciate they were very short staffed and had a new house keeper starting the next day. they are planning on redoing some of the rooms. I am sure they can turn it around

very friendly staff. made you feel very welcome.
