As the other reviews say it does look a bit tired, room was smaller than we had hoped for. Bed kind of dips and is soft. Perfect for me but not my partner.

Excellent location. The bath robes are the softest ever I wanted to take them home. Staff are very friendly. Nice water from reception, I’m now adding oranges all the time. Nice little touch.

Our room was ready on arrival but if we wanted to check in early we would have had to pay £50 which I thought was a bit steep! Needless to say we just left our bags and decided not to check in early!

Booked a twin room but had to ask for it to be made into twin on arrival. Had been set as a double. Upon changing to twin the gap between beds was extremely small! Very noisy room from something outside of the room. It seemed to stop after midnight-1pm then resume around 7am. No hand wash in the bathroom. Bathroom (shower) rather run down Lift to our room smelled badly of smoke

Location was great for the business trip. Breakfast was good. Beds were comfortable.

Really lovely however in my room some of the curtain had come away from the rail. Also, the plug in the bath was really difficult to open/close and kept coming off in my hand!

Coffee machine was broken at Breakfast and the UHT milk in my room was off. I didn't think UHT milk could go off, until I visited the Montcalm.

Overall presentation of the hotel was good and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Lot's of little broken things, non working lightbulbs, broken handles, knobs... it seems that they are not so focused on maintenance. The room didn't have a proper window, just some very small light ways - not useful

Extremely comfortable bed, big bathroom, attentive and courteous staff, top notch cleanliness, very well served breakfast despite a little over the price. Good sound isolation and good taste decoration.

In our room there were multiple items which were damaged or broken including the shower head and curtain railings. When we got into our room all the cupboards doors and drawers were open which was really strange

Breakfast was ok, it lacked quantity especially on the English Breakfast since it was £19 per day which is significantly overpriced for what was available.

Rooms were comfy and spacious. Liked having a seperate comfy chair to sit in that wasnt a desk chair.

Not the easiest to get to unless you know London well

The hotel is decorated lovely. Smells nice throughout too. Nice dining area for breakfast, good breakfast too but pricey at £25pp. My room was quite small but clean. The bed was really comfortable. It was a little noisy being close to the road and could hear external doors opening and closing outside my room. The shower leaked and the plug hole was stuck. The shower wall tray and tiles were also damaged. Even though it didn’t affect my stay much, for the price I paid I’d expect it to be nicer.

Bed and pillows could be softer! Air conditioning seemed very random. Not at the five star rating in my opinion, sets expectations too high for what is still an excellent hotel.

The room was spacious and the facilities good. Other reviews had mentioned this was not a five star hotel and I have to agree, but neither was the price at the level of a five star hotel in London. For the price it was excellent value for money based on location, facilities and size of room. All staff were very friendly.

The first room we went to the aircon didn’t work, when we complained they took us to 4 separate rooms to find one that actually had everything working, the next day we were woken up by a fire alarm started by someone showering? At 7.30 then 8.30, we complained about this and the staff were nothing but helpful but miscommunication is a bit of an issue, we were promised room service and then evening staff did not get told so said we would get charged. This was resolved but having to constantly argue was quite frustrating.

The staff were fantastic when we approached with multiple issues and couldn’t do more to help us amend this.

bed is so high a small person has difficulty getting in - and out! same with the wash bowl - too high - hate that sort of sit-on design. good for tall people. not me.
