The bathroom was spacious but cold and a little tired, plus it is very difficult to shower in an island bath surrounded by shower curtains.

Brilliant location in the cathedral quarter. Fabulous rooms. Friendly and helpful staff and the continental breakfast was a lovely touch. Cannot fault it at all. Highly recommend.

Beautiful conversion of an old building. Very comfortable bed, lovely roll top bath and shower. Right at the top of the hill so great views! Loads of extras and a nice warm croissant in the morning. Everything you could want was provided. Very helpful and friendly staff. As others have said, it is up a very steep hill but since this is a tourist attraction in its own right you’re going to go up anyway! Very close to cathedral and castle.

Great location a few minutes walk away from the town centre and a couple of minutes away from The cathedral and castle in a lovely quiet side Street. The room was very comfortable with a mini fridge containing fresh milk, fresh orange and filtered water, as well as having the usual tea and coffee facilities there were complimentary biscuits and a small chocolate, a lovely touch. The breakfast consisted of a freshly baked croissant with jams and butter as well as a fruit yoghurt which were hung on your door In the morning at a specified time to suit you. I will definitely be visiting the old Palace Lodge again in the future.

There was a couple outside our window clearly lovemaking which was very loud no idea how they got there as the grounds are secured.

Beautiful room, exceptional clean room, perfect central location, lovely hot shower and lovely coffee machine and snacks and cute breakfast in the morning with hot croissants and jam and butter.

If you want to go down to the river area beware!! - the road is called Steep Hill' for a very good reason!! OK if taken slowly.

Location with parking was excellent - cathedral, castle, museum of life all within easy walking, plenty of excellent pubs & places to eat.

We found the room a little too warm in the night, but couldn’t open the tiny window enough to let some air in.

Absolutely stunning building and the fact that it has free parking was a huge bonus for a city stay. We stayed in one of the more basic rooms but it was still beautiful. Coffee machine was really nice and the continental breakfast in the morning was lovely. Lots of extra tea and coffee as well if you need it. Shower was the perfect pressure as well. We arrived after reception had closed and were sent the check-in information by message ready for when we arrived which was a huge help.

A characterful building in a great location, with on site parking (amazing for Lincoln). Very comfortable and cosy - spacious room, great shower and comfortable bed. Thought breakfast on the door handle was a great idea and meant leisurely breakfast in bed.

The room was very hot during the night. It would have been more comfortable if heating was switched off. However this did not spoil.our stay

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. It was very useful to have a named car space.

Love this place only criticism would be the bath. I’m a large chap and to have a shower it was a tight squeeze

Could have been a little cleaner, behind the TV was very dusty. Some patches could have done with painting. Extractor in shower not working.

Fantastic location, couldn't have been more central. Room was well equipped and clean, complimentary continental breakfast was nice, and we were able to leave our car in the carpark until 12 on check out day

Only one bottle of drinking water with the sign in the bathroom stating you could not use for drinking water

Really unusual place to stay and right in the centre of Lincoln old town
