A parking space would have been good. Shame that The Bell wasn’t dog friendly.

Nice quaint house in the centre of a small town.

The Old Stables B&B was full of character. Our host, Jeff was very friendly and welcoming, and made us a drink when we arrived. We had a great chat before he showed us to our room, which was lovely. It was filled with antique furniture! A bed side table each, a wardrobe cupboard to use, and lots of little Antique ornaments. It was tastefully done. I asked about tea and coffee making facilities, and he explained that we could use the facilities in the Kitchen, whenever was convenient to us, and showed us where everything was. I very much liked that. The bed was very comfortable, and the en-suite was well stocked with little extra’s. Even though we were only there for two nights, it was great to be able to unpack and put our clothes away. Breakfast was continental style, and very good. There was Yoghurt, Fruit Juice, a good range of assorted cereals, Blueberries, Cheese, fresh fruit, toast and preserves. And again, as much tea and coffee as you wanted. Jeff did ask if there was anything he could do to improve our room, and I said the room was great, but that a second chair would be useful as it was a double room. That way, you could both sit and watch the Television, instead of one person sitting on the bed, although that wasn’t a particular problem. He took that suggestion on board and would put another one in the room. We told him that we would definitely stay again, if we visited the area.

Due to the location of his property parking is very difficult especially if you are there on a market day.

Jeff was really friendly and helpful and made us very welcome. The accommodation is very quaint and querky.

Parking was tricky but we had been warned. The noise of the 'macerator' in the bathroom was quite loud when running a tap or flushing the loo.

Good breakfast with fruit, yogurt, cereals, tea and toast with a range of jams and honey. Comfortable bed and friendly host.

    Nothing.

You have everything you need here. Imagine you just walked into your own home. It has what you have at home. Possibly more. Jeff was very accommodating, even though my check-in time was much later than what is offered. I even got a glass of wine and conversation on arrival. The room was comfortable and the bathroom has everything I needed.

    Absolutely nothing :-)

Great choice of fresh produce for breakfast - all laid out in the lovely farmhouse kitchen. A warm welcome from Jeff and some great chats. The room was stunning and very well appointed. We loved the quirky, uneven floorboards and the 300 years of settlement just added to the charm. We are trying to find a reason to travel back down there from Scotland to stay again. The local bars and restaurants are a stones throw away so no cars needed for dinner. Loved it.

Parking is at a premium, and the accommodation is advertised without parking, but we managed to park nearby both nights.

The accommodation was very well presented, with the door opening into a reception hall leading to the kitchen and one of the rooms. The kitchen table was laid for breakfast for 6 people with a very good selection of cereals, teas, coffee, juices and fresh bakery loaves. We were met by Ruth who was excellent and explained everything to us. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was well equipped with toothpaste, deodorant and had dispensers in the shower for shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
