How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing really.
Perfect for a one night pit stop. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Good service. Usual pub grub but all very acceptable. Excellent value for money.

Provide more teapots. Insufficient supply to give to everyone. A teabag in a cup is not very professional. Your website is frequently inaccessible. On this occasion, we had to use Booking.com to allow us to book a room in a timely manner It would be good if you could consider a Loyalty Programme for frequent visitors.
The breakfast on Friday was very good but not so good on Saturday. Wasn't cooked fresh and had been kept warm. Need to adjust the toaster. Toast was anaemic looking when put through once then black if put through a 2nd time.

They state they have disabled facilities, but they don’t. The room that was reserved for me was at the end of a very narrow passageway and I just got my wheelchair down it, the room was filled with a double bed and I couldn’t even get my wheelchair in it, I then had to reverse my wheelchair back down the narrow passage as there was nowhere to turn. The room they changed me to was a family room and it had lots more room, but the bathroom wasn’t great, even though it was big enough for my wheelchair, the shower was over the bath and this made things difficult for me. I found all this very stressful and I had emailed the management, in advance, to inform them I needed space and a walk in shower and neither were provided satisfactorily. There weren’t any grab rails in the bathroom, nor a red cord in the room or bathroom for use in an emergency, no fire safety information on display.
The staff were very nice, the room was clean and comfortable

Overwhelmed by email. Started with confirmation of payment and reservation from Booking.com and then this questionnaire (3 in total - all this ok and no problem. BUT added to this a total of 10 -YES TEN various communications from The Owl Hotel. Various - Confirmations, Invitation to Auto Check in and later to Auto Check out. I didn't bother to read these and actually saw the obliging Staff face-to-face.

The TV remote wasn't paired to the TV The breakfast for one of us was a little overcooked with the bacon being burnt. Overall, it wasn't a bad stay, but not quite as good as when we stayed at Christmas.
The location for us was fantastic for what we wanted to do at the weekend.

I found a couple cobwebs near the lamps on the wall and the door was abit difficult to open that I had to get someone to show me how to deal with opening it
Staff were amazing and friendly, breakfast was lovely. Hotel room was divine and nicely decorated! Good vibes all round!

My own fault. I didn't inform the property that I had a disability with a heart issue and needed to climb 40 steep steps to the 3rd floor to my room .I should have requested a change but didnt.
It was warm clean and served very good food with great service.
